Fallout 3

Postby Durothil Skyreaver » Tue Oct 28, 2008 12:32 am

Well I'm off to get my copy after classes today. Got any projects or lesson plans done that I needed to get done so I have ample time to play. Who else is picking it up? Or already has it for that matter?

Have one and am happy with it, thanks.

Doesn't mean I want to support a shitty game if it turns out to be one. ESPECIALLY if they ruin one of my favorite series ever...

Fallout 1&2 have been on my hard drives since the day they were released, both.

did my copy on release day. I have noticed a few graphics glitches from time to time but nothing game breaking, or anything like that.

Feel of the game is awesome. I have seen a few complaints about bugs and CTD's but really I have only experienced one Crash and that was from my IM. seems Fallout and Digsby dont work well and play well with each other when F3 is in fullscreen.

To be honest I get less game glitcvhes in this game then I do warhammer, WOW or EQ2. just hurts more cause inevitably its 2 seconds after you realize you have not saved in over an hour.

The game is immense, im about 10 hours in and I doubt I have explored a 10th of the world in general. All in all well worth the money spent on the game.

Harrison, I understand your play before you buy stratedgy, hell I do it to for some games. I dont buy a car if I cant test drive it, and I am not going to support some cockmonkeys idea of a good game if it sucks(Spore, Maseter of Orion 3, Commandos 3, Doom). Fallout 3 is worth every penny and then some. I would not be suprised if it got game of the year, it is frankly better in alot of ways then Morrowind for first person games with backed story.

I'm thinking about just stopping the download and going and buying it right off. I've not heard anything bad except fucking securom bullshit problems.

I'll fucking flip my shit if I buy it and go through what I did for Mass Effect.

Yeah same here. Zero problems during installation, and that is with Daemon tools running the whole time. I'm thoroughly enjoying the game.

So you guys bought it for PC? I am thinking about buying my version for PS3. Is one better than the other? n00b question.

Plus my PC is pretty old and I'm not about to spend a ton of dough to buy a new one for a video game that is also available on console.

unless you have a big badass rig i'd just get it on a ps3 and play it on a huge TV so it looks super pretty. bethesda basically makes console games, anyway. i played morrowind on the xbox after i did EVERYTHING on the PC and i enjoyed the xbox more save for its horrible load times. it feels more like a console game

According to Gamespot, the PS3 version is markedly worse graphically than the PC or 360 version.

Just passing on what I've read.

I managed to get stuck once in a broken house. Other than that I'm having a blast! Who is being good? Who is evil? I'm playing it saintly first then replay it as an evil bastard. BTW, melee fighting is the way to go early on. I'm lethal with the baseball bat :twak:

PC always looks better. But I can't put my PC on a 55" TV and i could never run fallout 3 flawlessly at 60fps like a console would

Note that they also said that the PS3 version was graphically inferior to the 360 version as well. So, it's not just a matter of PC vs Console, but which console is used makes a difference.

No normal fucking person is going to sit with them side by side and give a shit. It's not even noticeable.

I read the article they placed after that initial one.
