Rift Server/Character

Postby Lyion » Thu Feb 24, 2011 11:38 am

Put your character name/server in here.

I'm going to roll a Mage, Warrior, and Cleric on different servers

Shadefallen/Defiant - Bane & Constantine
Sunrest/Defiant - TBD
Byriel/Guardian - TBD

taking a damn year to download an 8.5GB game, ugh

why couldn't they just patch my beta files instead of making my poor modem pass a kidney stone the size of a bowling ball

Hit 18... Be back tomorrow. Once I get in the 30s I'll also start on my Cleric. I have a surplus of time right now, not sure how long it'll last. :)

1-20 is quick. Then things slow a bit more.

Mage actually levels slower than the other classes, but I'm still a tad OCD with leveling.

I've gotten better, I'm in bed not racing to max level like my EQ and DAOC days.

Hopefully the queues won't be so bad this weekend with the added servers.

What's the point of even having lower levels if you can level that fast? Why not just start everyone out at lvl 50 or whatever the cap is and bypass the whole leveling experience?

It's like all the other games, you can take your time and do everything or power-level to 50, both options are available. Plus they nerfed rift exp way down from Beta so you don't level as fast anymore.

Exp was slowed down upon release.

I blew through EQ to 50 quick, just because I like to level fast. Same with WOW.

The game is fun, that's really all I look for. I tried EQ again and wow it was painful compared to current games for me.

I'm enjoying Rift. Not sure how long it'll last but for now I'm glad I bought it.

Toss, the Necro pets fucking completely own any other game. that alone should tempt you!

Pretty much every MMO since EQ has sucked on most levels. Almost all MMO's now can be described with "It's just like WoW except..."

EQ2 held my interest for a few months mostly because I wanted to see what the world looked like.

Yeah, I'm playing WoW with a bunch of RL friends.

I don't need to play WoW with a new cover sheet with no friends.

This game is not WoW, it's not catered to kids.

Anyway found this preview video for End Game content. http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/02/19 ... ute-video/

Several of us from NT are on this server. A bunch of old NT are also on Byriel.

If anyone is looking for a new, polished MMO this is it.

I loved EQ.. in 1999. It looks and plays like a game eleven years old, though. Rift is fun and fluid. It's also loaded with people and a lot of fresh content.

ddo is taking forever. i'm days in and i'm still lvl 4. rift looks really cool but i don't think my computer could do it /tear

but like josh i'm doin it because some ppl IRL told me about it. and it's free. /shrug. pretty fun game imo. casual or hardcore, whatever you want to do. but it's definitely got a shitty visual style. not how i imagine D&D at all

DDO is a unique beast. I like it but haven't been able to find someone else interested in it to play with. I'm good with EQ again for a while. The girl is loving it and that makes it fun for me.

I like the visual style because it is deferent that all other D&D MMO's. It looks more like post apocalyptic world, which ties with the story of the world torn apart by rifts and warring factions.
