Had too good an offer to miss so I nabbed Diablo 3 at lunch today.

I played for an hour or so this morning. It's Diablo alright. Didn't get a chance to mess with the multiplayer.

Dunno that it was buggy so much as "29 million people tried to connect to the same servers at once, and they got slammed beyond belief." Then again, they are doing emergency maintenance on the servers this morning in the US, so maybe something DID break in a big way.

Yea thats why I wasnt even interested when it came out. No offline to me is crap. I prefer to play most video games by myself and dont like the idea of having to log into anything

I got it free, also, and not for a WOW account.

I've played a good six hours so far. It's a good game, but it's not like D2 was 13 or so years ago. I think most of the people in love with it are going to be D2 big fans for the lore. The graphics are terrible, and the gameplay isn't as good as the original. I think they are putting more emphasis on the economy which is interesting since it is a single player game. They are channeling their inner Valve.

I think Torchlight II will probably be a better game.

Dear god, no. DS III is an abomination unless the game completely changed from release until now. I was a huge DS 1 and 2 fan, too.

Much different game than DS1 or 2 but great, IMO. I loved it.

Diablo 3 is fun. It's not some massive gaming event like Skyrim was but I like it, and am having fun with it and can consistently run some fun dungeon groups with friends. Hating the game because you have to log into it while it does pose some minor inconveniences really is straight up silly. You don't have to play with other people but yes you just hae to log into it. What's the big deal? Can't spare the 20 seconds?

If you don't have a reliable internet connection, it's a problem.

If you are hanging out in the middle of nowhere, it sucks.

I've had work assignments where my accommodations don't have wifi/internet access and you are there for a week+ at a time?
That is the time I get to play video games for more than 30 minutes at a time.

Not on my buy list.

The game is fun, but not sure how anyone plays it for hours on end. I'm too old for clickclickclickclick gameplay.

I broke out my N52 to prevent Carpal Tunnel lol.

The online part does not bug me, but I can see where it'd suck in some circumstances.
