Fun! Innovative skill system, fun/challenging quests, risk/reward for exploring, decent graphics, etc.

Having a great time with it so far.

I had a blast with this in beta. First game in a long time that didn't suck cocks as an MMO.

I think I may be done with subscription MMOs. They're too much like car leases. I hate renting anything, and always have.

I will be nabbing Gw2.

I don't even think of them as MMO's anymore. I play them til they aren't fun anymore and don't really pay attention to other players.

I haven't played it in a month or so. It's a fresh MMO but I just haven't had as much time for games as I'd like this summer.

They have just added a new 3 day trial. Try it out. It's nothing new or amazing, but it was the best beta I've participated in, in YEARS.

I believe the game is worth the money.

so far i give it an A-

environments own, creatures own, gameplay owns, graphics own

in fact pretty much everything about it owns

"but brinstar, why the minus?" you ask

three things:
1. the ability wheel is fucking daunting as shit. i am heavy into pistols with a side of chaos mostly because it sounded badass; while i love my skillset so far i can't heal myself for shit and die a lot
2. skill points don't seem to do a whole lot aside from "unlocking" better gear
3. i like that you are limited to 7 active and 7 passive abilities at any given time (strategery!), but goddamn there needs to be some sort of item belt. i don't care if it's only one or two slots, there needs to be a hotkey-able consumable slot. my 100-slot backpack is about 95% full with different qualities of fire, water, dust, metal, and a billion runes - if i'm getting torn apart by a pack of zombies i will die before managing to sift through all that shit to find a can of AMP heal

You can make infinite amounts of "bags" and sort that shit out properly. You can also have them lock ontop of everything, if you want them visible at all times. This changed the game greatly for me when I found that out.

The ability wheel IS daunting, but as you learn the synergies...you start seeing it completely different than how you do at first. Imagine what the EQ spell list looks like to someone new? To us we have that shit memorized down to the mana cost, level, damage, buff amount, etc. nearly 15 years later.(at least I do...)

I wish I had the spare time to sit and play an MMO at the moment. I loved this game so much in beta.

If a build isn't working, just start pumping into another tree until you see something that fits. You have infinite amounts of points, always at the same rate of gain.

getting even further into pistols but i find i still don't have much survivability and must rely on straight-up killing shit before they kill me

think i might have to suck it up and trade in my chaos stuff for blood stuff

(also i found out that if you drag a stack of components with RMB you can click LMB over an empty slot and a single component will peel off the stack there. makes crafting SO much easier.)
