Sounds like a big waste of money.

You're definitely not going to have to upgrade for 4-5 years with two 8800s in SLI

That's really complete overkill. If you want to brag about 3Dmark, that's the system to have.

If you want a system that can play anything on the market, get a Dual Core 6400, 2 Gigs, and a single 8800 GTX. Heck, a single 8800 GTS will play any game at 1920x1080 and kick its ass

You can always add another 8800 GTX and upgrade the processor later, but really there is no need for that level of power.

On a side note, I decided to splurge a bit and went ahead and bought an EVGA 8800 GTX today, to upgrade from my 7900 GS which will go in the girls pooter.

Sadly, I went to Newegg to purchase a MicroSD card, and decided wtf.. and nabbed the GTX. I've been considering it for a bit, but decided since I had to spend money to ship my 8 dollar 1 gig MicroSD card, I may as well bundle a $530 Video card with it..

Go go piss poor shopping logic!

The question is, how well would that set up handle Vanguard? =p

Last I heard (could be BS), is that VG didn't support dual core or SLI yet, so no real added gains.

Why in the world would you need to SLI 8800 GTXs? Running Flight Sim X on a 52" Monitor at 3200x1600 resolution?
