Buddism does not actually have a god that you pray to. In some schools Buddha himself is worshipped like a man-god. Buddhas own teachings take more of an agnostic approach in the sense that there may be a god or there may be many but they are not important and they can not help you. The answer lies within you and you yourself have to find the answer. Buddha is only a teacher.


personally i would say buddhism doesnt believe in a god like most christians do, but believes in god(can call it whatever you want) as being one with all things much like the gnostic christians do. There seems to be a huge correspondence between buddhism and early christianity(nag hammadi).
