Because you know this beyond a shadow of a doubt of course?

Seriously, people on both sides need to realize they can be wrong.

I'm reluctant to say that God is a figment of some dude's imagination way back in the day, simply because of the sheer number of people worldwide that just sorta woke up one day and said "Woah... this planet is pretty damn wicked. I wonder where it came from?" That's not to say whether or not I believe in a supreme deity watching our every move... but it seems like a pretty widespread revelation huh?

Lights, camera, silence on the set
Tape rolling, 3-2-1-action
Welcome to the church of Suicidal
We'll have a service and wonderful recital
But before we go on, there's something I must mention
An important message I must bring to your attention
I was in meditation and prayer last night
I was awakened by a shining bright light
Over head, a glorious spirit
He gave me a message and you all need to hear it
"Send me your money", that's what he said
He said to "Send me your money"
Now if you can only send a dollar or two
There aint a hell of alot I can do for you
But, if you want to see heaven's door
Make a check out for five hundred or more
"Send me your money", do you here what I'm saying?
"Send me your money"

Now give me some bass, um yea that's how he likes it
Now give me some silence, for all you sinners
Now give me some bass, yea that was funky
Now take them on home Brother Clark, send me your ...money
Here comes another con hiding behind a collar
His only god is the almighty dollar
He aint no prophet, he aint no healer
He's just a two bit goddamn money stealer
Send me your money
Send it, you got to send it
Send me your money
You hear what I'm saying?
Send it, send it
Send me your money
Now how much you give is your own choice
But to me it's the difference between a prosche and a Rolls
Royce
I want you to make it hurt when you dig into your pocket
I want you to make it hurt!
We'll take cash, we'll take checks
We'll take credit cards, we'll take jewelry
We'll take your momma's dentures if they got gold in them
So whose gonna be the next king of the fakers
Whose gonna take the place of Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker?
See my momma, she didn't raise no fool
Cause you can't put a price on a miracle
Amen

This is where you are wrong. The human race as a whole becomes "smarter" as more myths are debunked and science embraced.

Televangelism makes me rofl... I saw a tour of a televangelist's house on tv a few years back... his doghouse had electric doors.

When science can prove to me God doesn't exist...I'll pay attention.

Until then, both sides are just as wrong.

That is my whole argument Fin. You do not see us "non-believers" making thread after thread trying to ram down our non-belief to everyone on this board, or to the world for that matter. However, day after day, people who believe in christianity ram it down our throats whether it is on NT, the news or on TV. There is no way to currently prove or disprove god's existence, yet cockbags like Mindia who swear their life on it, live it like it is gospel and if everyone doesn't believe they are in the wrong. I would like anyone here go out and find a thread by me, taxx, tossica or lourdes that we started and used it to bash religious people.

That's the thing... if God exists as he (it?) is said to exist, then there will never be a way to either prove or disprove his (its?) existence. Religion in general has no factual basis. Its entire being rests on faith alone. That said, there will always be non-believers, so preaching to the wrong choir, so to speak, is moot. Sure you may be able to sway some to your cause, but for every one converted there are at least ten that won't buy it.

I don't think evangelism is wrong... to a point. If you try once, maybe twice to convert someone and they still refuse to accept it, then it should be left at that. If a mountain stands in the same place it did ten thousand years ago, then any more effort to budge it is wasted.

Its true, I love you all!

Me being a former athiest, I still have the same stance;

When you mix religion and state you lose America. Everyone loses, putting your foot in the door allowing it here and there could just as soon turn into proliferation and then our country is christianity or bust.

Also I think offering a "bible class" in our schools would be unacceptable. Every major religion would have to be represented, among many other problems I struggle to not write.

However Mindia I find it funny that your against purple hair and body peircings? Besides self expression and all that you wouldnt hire me? :p If the job required a sort of public appearance I can see that maybe, too many people are stupid and judge off apperance to hire said person, but if its a desk job?
Currently my hair is so long if I tried to get some shitball job around here I couldnt do it. I most likely couldnt get a job doing heavy physical labor.

Ive consitered getting my lip peirced, I can tell you what did influence that much more then what didnt, and for me it wasnt pop culture.

Anyway whatever.

I was a strong-headed athiest as a child, but I've found that an agnostic stance is much more fun.

Come on over and do it. I'll give you my address. Country music is wholesome and pure, and is the backbone of America.

meh?

I'm not going to attack you here, Mindia. I too believe somehwat what you were saying in your original post. Its lawyers who are bored that take all religion from school.

Its sad really. If my sons came h ome with pink hair and an eyebrow ring, I wouldn't like it, but I will have to let them make their own decisions, and if hes holding down a job, and getting good grades in school, then why should I worry about what he looks like? Just like if my son came home in shit kickers, ropers, and a stetson, I wouldn't care, as long as he was happy and was well adjusted. If my son came home and told me he was gay, again, while I wouldn't like it, I would accept him because he is my son and that is what makes him happy. You can't FORCE your beliefs on your children, or they will pull away from you. Give them the information, their options, and let them make their own decisions. Everyone has to make mistakes, it's how we learn.
