Can't say enough great things about Tim Duncan. Class act, ultimate sportsman and probably the best PF of all time. His play wasn't flashy but it was solid. Never once missed the playoffs in his entire career.

I wonder if this means Aldridge gets the torch like he got from Robinson?

Leonard is getting the torch in my opinion. Crazy how that team just stays good year after year.

He's a legend, for sure.

Dear lord how did I forget about Kawhi Leonard lol. You're right.

I would like to see Leonard get MVP and for there to be better coverage of his defensive capabilities. NBA fans too offense minded since Michael, Kobe and now Curry.

Good on the NBA for taking the All Star Game out of Charlotte over that state's discriminatory anti-LGBT law. Maybe losing all that potential income, plus the national embarrassment of having the game pulled will get saner people elected to office in NC, and get the law reversed.

Adam Silver is becoming a very progressive commissioner, and the thing is, it doesn't seem like lip service. This is really how he feels the NBA should act. I'm really digging Silver so far.

I respect this and also how quickly he responded to the Sterling stuff back then.

Yea, and you can tell in interviews he means what he says.

I don't think there's any question but that he's the best commissioner of any of the 4 major sporting leagues. Goodell is a terrible commissioner, and is at best an ownership stooge, and at worst totally incompetent. (see: Handling of the Ray Rice incident). Baseball's commissioner is mostly a non-entity at this point. The owners are really running things directly, and have since they put Selig in office. Bettman, commissioner of the NHL, is an interesting case. There's a lot he's done that is just shit, but the game is at least moderately healthy and growing at the moment, even if it's still in 4th place. I'd have to say, controversial as he is (especially in Canada), he's probably #2 right now.

But yeah, even as a bandwagoner mostly non-NBA watching person, I have heard and seen enough to respect the hell out of Silver.

"4 major sporting leagues"

Let's not forget that auto racing is overall more popular than the NBA, thankfully. And don't forget about The Don and MLS, which has grown pretty impressively over the last 17 years or so since he left the NFL

Can't wait til every MLS and Premier/Bundesliga/BBVA League game is on at reasonable hours on channels I don't have to pay a bunch extra for. Football in the Olympics was great as usual. I'm already getting tons of GT2, GT3, v8 supercar, and Indy racing (fuck NASCAR). Baseball runs over half the year on a daily basis so no problems there. I'm happy with sports again, and I never have to spend a single second watching stuff i don't like (NBA, NFL). I took a good 10 years off caring at all about any sport except Baseball and now it's all I do. Sports video games and sports on the TV

Make your own thread and fuckoff over to it. I don't post in your baseball threads for a reason.

Hardly. I have enough class to respect other people's opinions not to be a shit about it.

You have a baseball thread. Have at it. We've gone 200 posts without your incite on car racing, I think we'll be fine.

Except right now when you're being a shit about it

I'm not talking details about baseball or racing anyways, I'm just chiming in with an opinion because Arlos said there were only 4 major sporting leagues and left out a really great commissioner that has really helped a sport grow. Quit being a cunt
