The Scooter passes away

If you grew up watching the Yankees between the 60's and 80's, you know how fun it was to the listen to the game on WPIX channel 11, NY when he was a broadcaster "Holy Cow, did you see that?".

A good shortstop and a helluva guy. I actually met him a few times back in the late 80's and early 90's. Once on Route 22 while we were both shopping for cars, and another time at a sports collectible shop in Westfield when he was signing autographs.

The man was a pleasure to talk to and was gracious to his fans. He never turned away from an autograph or a photo request from the times I've seen him.

I know I'll miss him.
