Sean Taylor shot by home intruder

Postby Haylo » Mon Nov 26, 2007 10:35 am

They don't have much information but it seems as if he was shot in the groin and they are speculating that the bullet hit the femoral artery since he's currently in critical condition. Apparently he heard a disturbance at his back door and went to check it out at which point he was shot. It's a damn shame, this guy was just now maturing and getting himself together. I hope he pulls through.

Very talented Safety for the Redskins, who has had a pretty troubled history, dating back to his college days in Miami.

Yeah, it has been reported that after showing optimistic signs lastnight that early this morning he has passed away. The truly sad thing is that for over a year now Taylor has been out of trouble and had become a new man since the birth of his baby daughter. He was trying to change his life and get away from the troubled past he had. To be shot in his own home at night, visiting with his daughter and girlfriend on a holiday weekend is just cruel. He had too bright of a future and was far too young to have passed away. Rest in peace Sean

He lived there. He was recovering from a knee injury that had kept him out the past few weeks at his home with his fiancé and child. He went to the U and still made Miami his home. Clinton Portis jumped to the defense of Miami as not a problem city but I've gotta think it's becoming a major hole of a town.

Why wouldn't someone want to be with their family on a holiday weekend?

He was also in Miami because his house was broken into a few days earlier. The intruder went through their belongings, didn't take anything, but left a kitchen knife on his bed. Sunday afternoon Sean Taylor told Gibbs he would miss the Monday morning team meeting so he could take care of matters dealing with the break in.

This strikes me as a deliberate act, and not a random burglary.

Wonder if we'll find out the girlfriend shot him...

i wonder if it's just sad that he died and left a little kid behind....

let's try to resist the apparently very natural human urge to spew verbal/mental diarrhea about an event we know nothing about and doesn't really effect our lives anyhow.

First, she didn't call from the home phone. She called from her cell. Red Flag.

She called long after he had been shot. Red Flag.

Second, he was shot in the bedroom. Not the living room. Not anywhere else. Someone just burst open the bedroom door and opened fire. That doesn't seem feasible to me. Red Flag.

Second, Taylor is a self described tough guy. We know he has firearms as he's been arrested for brandishing them before. The story she's telling is he confronted an intruder with a Machete?? Red Flag

This story has more holes than poor Sean does right now. I wonder if she has another dude who came to visit, or if this is related to Taylor's U time and fun past.

She called from her cell because the phone lines to the house were cut. Police confirmed that they'd been cut externally to the home. And isn't it normal when someone gets convicted on a gun-related crime that they're not allowed to have them any more? The guy was turning his life around, I think it pretty likely he'd be sticking to the terms of his legal judgments. Furthermore, hasn't it been pretty conclusively shown that there's no way the GF could've done the previous breakins? Also, seems a bit of a stretch to put suspicion on her, when I haven't seen any account of marital difficulties, and indeed, from all reports I HAVE seen, that relationship, plus the new kid, were instrumental in turning him around. Seems a pretty big leap to go from that to her doing it.

        They weren't married.

Why would a 'thief' cut the phone lines, unless he knew people were there? This is odd in an age of Cell Phones, since it's probable a person living in a million dollar house has one.

Also, why would he go in knowing people were there, and just shoot one of them and run? 3:30 AM burglaries are rare in rich neighborhoods, since million dollar houses tend to have security and better police monitoring.

I'm merely pointing out this is a very thin story with a lot of strange twists.

you cut the phone lines to disable the security systems ability to alert cops

and possibly the guy just fired 2 wild shots and ran

it doesn't make a lot of sense, but criminals are necessarily the brightest of folks all the time

A security system for someone that rich would use cell technology wouldn't it? I've seen two-bit dollar stores with security like that.

My guess is it was never plan to be a robbery. It could have been a hit or something. And maybe the first time the home was broken into, it was someone scouting, etc.? Maybe he got involved in some kind of gambling and fucked up and really pissed someone off? I mean who takes the time to cut the phone line and all that shit in a robbery? Or even more, what piece of shit common thief knows how to do all that? Or maybe im wrong and its really not that hard to do, I dunno.

But then again, youd think a professional killer or something would have better aim that a miss and a groin shot.

Im just throwing off-the-wall ideas out there because its fun, and in this kind of shit with this level of people, it seems like theres always something more to the story that comes out later.
