well yeah, because silva can knock a guy out while he's backing away from him. lol

ETA: when we were watching 101 on saturday, i didn't know at first that silva doesn't speak much english and i thought that the pay per view just had really really bad dubbing, lol. it was pretty funny at the time. hellllooooo red bull vodka!

Thanks for reminding me about 101! *runs off to isohunt*

Fedor is getting kinda old, but I still think that monster has some left in him if he's not been slacking on his training and conditioning.

A good striker can put a guy out while going in reverse. There was a guy not to long ago who used to do it as a trademark before he lost his game. Leah are you an mma fan or did you watch it with some friends?

just watched it with friends. although i predicted the final fight down to within 12 seconds, so that's awesome of me hehe

it's fun to watch, but i don't know the guys' life stories or anything about strategy or whatever.

Once you start understanding the ground game, and what is constantly going on, the sport opens up to you in a whole new way entertainment-wise.

I would agree but i hate when wrestlers are content to just lay on a guy and ride out 15 mins.

I wrestled thru highschool and a tiny bit into university, as well as took a couple years of judo (yellow belt in grade 5!) then again in university with a friend

ground game is the part I like the best, altho I really appreciate a knockout

I never will forget the early UFC's and Jim Brown (wtf) being the commentator and him saying shit like, "that guy just tapped out, I have no idea what happened, but I bet it hurt"

I hate the ground game. It bores the shit out of me.

There's nothing I enjoy more than seeing a striker pulverize a wrestler.

Much <3 for Silva. If only he was big enough to take out Lesnar, next...

If thats all you like you should watch shitty ass boxing. The ground game is a major part of the fight. When a guy works and knows what hes doing its as intense as a fight gets. But I said and sort of agree with you when a wrestler is content to just lay there and wait out the fight that is boring. Any fighter who cant fight off the mat will not last in the ufc these days.

biggest annoyance:

the fucker at the bar who constantly throws out every name of every hold... "ooh, he's in the 3-armed monkey grab... ooh, shit he almost had a collar-bone death hold! Ooh... the nigerian knee bar, haven't seen that since the Gracie/Sherlock fight in 96!" We get it... you watch MMA. Stop trying to impress everyone.

I like boxing. It narrows the field in terms of what you can do to your opponent but to me that makes it easier to follow.
