I wasn't fond of the man, but I respected him. He was once a huge innovator, and was one of the first to hire minorities in important management positions, when no one else was doing it.
His passing leaves a monster-sized void in the NFL, and double that to what it means to the Raiders. He *WAS* the Raiders, in a very literal sense. Certainly far more so than any other owner embodies his team, even considering Jones in Dallas.
Love him or hate him, he WILL be missed.
