Pats and Squealers lost. Even though SD lost, that makes the week good.

When did Ponder turn into Fran Tarkenton?

This isn't even a sport anymore with the officiating the way it is.

It's a fucking joke.

lol. I read that one bad call last night cost gamblers like 200 million.

Anyways, the NFL should have had a better contingency plan in place to take college refs vs the scabs they now have. Unfortunately the bad PR will probably cause the Refs to dig in deeper. That's too bad, this should have been resolved, but really the NFL Refs overvalue themselves IMHO. They aren't players and should not be valued as high as they think they should.

yea but unlike, say, the CTU strike a couple weeks ago, there isn't a strong counter-argument such as "dude srsly, taxpayers can't afford to pay you more"

plus i'm pretty sure the number of people who think the NFL refs overvalue themselves shrank significantly last night

i disagree, I think that every week that goes by, the striking refs will lose more of a hold of what they're bargaining for.

Refs make mistakes also, the only difference between the scabs and the ones are striking is inexperience, this goes a whole season and the striking refs are shit out of luck because the replacement refs will go through a year round training/bootcamp themselves and they will no longer carry the title replacement by next season.

The NFL is too strong of a brand, fans love their football and will not boycott.

We didn't boycott in 87(?) when the players were striking. The NFL brought in scab players, and fans still went to see the games. By week 3 players such as Lawerence Taylor crossed the line so they can continue to play realizing the NFL would have kept on going without them.

even after last night's fiasco?

over the course of the entire season you might end up being right, but i think right now goodell's position is at its very weakest

OK, that was a MUCH better game by the 49ers. 34-0 over the Jets, and it wasn't actually even that close.

If only the 9ers played Sanchez every week. Jets O was completely anemic.

Heartbreak of the day was Carolina. I'm still not sure how they lost that game.

Sanchez: Is he the latino clone of Tim Couch? Y/N

Carolina lost because they were idiotic enough to give up a 60 yard pass on the first play from scrimmage after they pinned the Falcons at the 1. How was that receiver even REMOTELY open? Bad D call or bad D execution, one or the other. That was entirely their fault, though.

Patriots whipped out their Runningback cocks, and it was nuts. Two 100yd+ rushers = wow. (for a typically passing team since what, before I was born?)

Yeah, but it was Buffalo and Fitzpatrick.

Let's see how they do next week against the Broncos and Peyton.

Best team in the NFL right now is Houston, but the playoffs are wide open. This is going to be a fun year.

Vikes special teams, YES! The rest of the game was shaky. They still look good.

My poor Chiefs are garbage =(.

How can you really stick with Cassel at this point? I'm not saying Quinn or Stanzi are better, but don't you at least have to give them a shot? The QB is literally giving games away.

Not sold on Geno yet as a target for the draft but I'm at the point where Jeff George is looking pretty good.

And the 49ers roflstomp another AFC team. 45-3, and it wasn't THAT close. Bad as the Minnesota game was, it's looking more and more like an aberration (and Minnesota is looking to be better than expected, too), so I am a lot less concerned now than I was after that game. We'll get a better test next game against the Giants, though I expect another win.

Oh, and NFC West: Best division in Football?

Besides the 49ers, the Vikes have been playing some pretty pathetic teams. They whooped Tennessee's ass but they were laughably bad.
