Golden State is playing sloppy still but I called it with Steph erupting this game. The turnover situation is pretty bad though. I think they are top 5 in the league in turnovers.

Welp, it happened. This season has gotten me interested enough that I'm actually going to a NBA game. Me and a couple friends got tickets for their game vs the Mavericks on the 25th. Lower bowl, in one of the odd-shaped corner sections, in a row that only has 3 seats. heh.

So, I'm excited, but my wallet is EXCEEDINGLY unhappy with me. As you might expect, tickets to Warriors games, especially against decent teams, are not cheap. Still, I couldn't in good conscience have such a historic season going on right next to me and not attend at least ONE game. I'd never forgive myself later.

Should be interesting, anyway... :boots:

Heh, he knows, I mentioned it to him on Facebook and he responded. Basically just said that his Mavs were responsible for one of the W's losses, so don't be TOO confident. heh.

In all seriousness, it's the most I've paid for a ticket to an event, ever. Still looking forward to it. The only other time I've been to a Warriors game was back in the terribad days, in like 1998 or so, I think it was, when I got an invite to a luxury suite passed to me while I worked at Oracle from a vendor that was trying to suck up to us.

So.... The Warriors have to go 9-2 to break the Bulls' record. Do you guys think they get it?

At the Warriors/Mavs game right now. 33-27 right now with 1:42 left in the first quarter. Only thing keeping Dallas in this is that Barea has made like 4 or 5 threes already.

Heh, you should have heard this place explode when Steph hit that super long 3 at the buzzer just before halftime.

That was a fun experience. Not something I am going to do again this season, given how much I paid for the ticket, but it was definitely nice to do once. You really can see a LOT more about how the defenses are playing, see all the screens that are being set, etc.

Here's the view from our seats at the end of the game: Image

Note you can see Green & Steph talking to David Lee after the game in the middle of the floor there.

It was looking for a while like this would be another one where they got to rest Steph in the 4th quarter, as they were up 17+ in the 3rd, but the Mavs were shooting the 3 pretty well tonight themselves, and that was keeping them in the game. That bit where Klay was celebrating Steph making a 3 right as Steph passed it to him was hysterical. :)

Holy shit. They did it.

If they just hold home court in the next game against Memphis, they have the record.

Is there anyone in the NBA that can beat them in a 7 game series? Is there anyone in the NBA that has even 2 wins against them this year?

So glad I went to a game. I would never have forgiven myself if this season unfolded around me and I didn't bother to ever go.

Edit: Just saw that this was indeed the first time in NBA history that a team has had no more than 1 loss to any team in the league. Every other team got beat twice in the year by SOMEONE.
Also: Warriors are the first team in NBA history to never have a losing streak of any kind. Every single time they lost this season, they won the next game.

73-9.

21-2 vs the rest of the top-10 teams in the league. (actually a BETTER winning percentage vs top teams than overall)

As for Steph...
> 30 points per game
402 3 pointers, when not even he himself had gotten even 300 before.
Founding (and only) member of the 50-45-90 club.

Vegas has the craziest betting line for Steph winning the MVP. It was a 1-100 last I looked. As in, you have to bet 100 dollars to win 1. Not surprised, though. He may have the biggest lock on an MVP award of just about any player ever in any sport since they started giving them out. Just have to see if it's unanimous now, which also has never happened.

Really glad I went to a game.

Still not an NBA fan in general, I far prefer hockey and football, but with the 49ers in a state of complete disarray, with a Sterling/Cohan level of bad ownership, maybe I devote more of my sports watching time to the NBA next season instead of getting depressed every time I watch the Niners. Nevertheless, this season has been incredibly fun and compelling.

Now they just need to finish the business and win 16 more games.

Oh yeah, they still might add Durant in the offseason, too... rofl.

Blazers Clippers is going to be a good series. Looking forward to that one. Hope my man Ed Davis does well. Like most rational people, I hate the clippers so good luck.

Maybe, but it would have always been a dog fight with the Spurs. OKC still a darkhorse I suppose. Liking seeing Miami and Boston fail. I'd be ecstatic if all the east series got closed out in game 6.

Hate LeBron like most, but I see them winning it. Cavs are playing so well right now (as opposed to the Raps Miami series).

You really think the Cavs can beat the Warriors, assuming Curry is back to full health by the finals?

Even with Curry back at full strength the Warriors have a problem with turnovers. Lebron is a conversion monster. You also have JR and Richard Jefferson shooting over 50% from the 3 pt line. Kevin Love is starting to be properly utilized. Cavs will be going into the finals with a full squad this time and Lebron is 2-6 in the finals. It's not gonna be easy for GSW but it will be pretty entertaining basketball. I think GSW takes it in 6.

It will be a coin toss, but I think the way the Cavs have been shooting the 3 makes them insanely difficult to beat.
