Anyone else play cards much? We have some pretty wicked games going here about once a week or so.

$10 or $20 a game. Lots of fun with friends.

yeah, regular group every week. $25 buy in, $5 a round. Winning money is actually all being put towards buying a better card table and some clay chips.

I am too poor. Last time I played poker for anything it was for "Intangible Assets of the Human Persona"

I lost my the use of "rock" in paper rock scissors, yet gained my friends "lust for every woman of authority" and his "infatuation with lawn gnomes." Everyone's a winner

I played this game to no-end until the casinos dumped their poker rooms and the local poker rooms were shut down by the man.

Ah, the good old days. Tossica, if ever in Kansas City, I know Harrahs has a no-limit game every few months.

We usually play texas hold'em or 5 card draw. You should come down an play with us country folk Toss, we're only about 2 hours away.

I’ve got a semi-regular poker game going on with my friends, about 2-3 times a month. It’s usually at my house because all of my friends are already married so I’m the one with the “bachelor pad”. I just let my GF know when a poker night’s going on and she disappears to her sister’s for a few hours. I just bought this really cool folding poker table with room for 8 players and built-in cup holders. Plus I’ve got the clay chips. Whenever we play at my friend’s house we have to use his crappy plastic chips.

We don’t really play hold ‘em because we’re trying not to jump on the bandwagon. We’re such rebels!

I try to play 5 card and other games when we play but they don't have the same suspense and risk as Hold em.

Omaha is another good game, if you don't know how to play it, may be hard to explain on a message board.

Poker night is a monthly thing for my circle. No limit Texas holdem is a great game. Seven card stud games are fun if you add something to em. Low Chicago is a little racist but makes the game interesting.

Toss - I used to live in Menomonie when I was going to Stout. Bout an hour down I-94 from the Twin Cities. Now just another hour further down.

And I thought city slickers were supposed to be all open to other cultures. Redneck is a culture too! hahaha.

I lived in Madison for 3 years. It's like a little oasis in the middle of the wasteland. Wisconsin is depressing.

i find most of the midwest to be generally uninspiring

i live in lincoln and grew up in a town of 22,000 90 miles west of here

i guess it's not too bad, but one thing that always vexes me is that we hardly ever seem to get good concerts :\

except dick dale is playing here on my birthday woot

I agree Brin. Actually, Minneapolis is kinda out of place in Minnesota. It's like all farmland and then poof there is a 2.9 million person metro area and the farmland again for as far as the eye can see.

Madison is just a *bit* too liberal for me. I consider myself fairly moderate. But just entering the city limits of Madison you can just feel crazy half communist ideology wrap around you and try to choke out any free will you may have previously posessed.

Other than that. Wisconsin's boring, but I like living here. Good schools. Just the right balance of conservative - liberal politics, nothing gets too far right or left.

Murderapolis on the other hand. Reminds me of Cartman's rendition of "Living in the ghetto." But any city over 100,000 does =\ I'm such a hick.

I learned how to play Texas hold em at a casino in Windsor before I moved to Texas. That is one of my most favorite games. Well, that one and Roulette.
