WOW Emulation server

Postby Lyion » Sun Mar 02, 2008 4:25 pm

Courtesy of Flink, I'm going to screw around on one of these.

This one appears to be the most popular:

Going to check it out and see how it is, if anyone else wants to screw around.

Why not wowscape? ;p

Wowscape actually offers several servers. I play on the "fun" server, where xp and drop rates are multiplied like 60x or something. They have more legit ones also, if that's what you'd prefer.

Let me know if that one is any good. Do they try to recreate Blizzard servers or is it a screw around server?

I didn't like their web site or info as much, plus the other seemed to be a bit more well organized.

They are 13x combat /18x exp so it should be fairly fast to level.

I'm Grokk screwing around on it right now. Just hit level 10 in 15 minutes...

edit:

Lag on the first one was atrocious. I'm trying the WOWscape fun one now.

There are a metric ton of these out there. The support and implementations are really good, too, in many cases.

I've checked out a few sites, and if there weren't so many, I'd set up my own.

That's why there isn't much reason for most casual players to bother wasting their money on this mediocre game. I said that like a year ago lol

I'd be surprised if there wasn't a torrent up.

Come someone explain to me how these work? I'm at work and everything game related is filtered.

Do I use my WoW/BC disks at home and install it or do I install it from the site?

patch to the version recommended by the Emu server. WOWscape uses any 2.3 variant.

open up the file called "realmlist.wtf" with any text editor, and replace everything inside of there with the following code:

set realmlist logon.wowscape.net

That's it.

Does anyone have any solutions to why I have such high latency on Wowscape? It was never this bad when I was regularly playing WoW.

Actually I'm just a dumbass and didn't realize that even though I am hardlined to my router, my laptop still defaulted to the wireless internet.

But now my issue is that I cannot get my laptop (Windows Vista) to detect the internet connection direcly from the router. Anyone have any ideas?

I almost assure you it's only the major U.S. based servers. There's plenty of them still up and going strong.
