http://www.ediets.com worth the $3.99 a week? A girl I work with uses it and it seems pretty awesome.

Plus I WANT to eat healthy but have no idea how to cook so when I go to the grocery store I always end up getting chicken and...more chicken.

If you just want healthier ideas you could try signing up for 24hour fitness's recipe of the day or one like it. It's a free mailing list which sends out meal ideas that I've been surprised are actually pretty good. (as well as good for you). Each one comes with complete shopping list, preparation and nutritional info so you know what you're getting. It's not as strait forward as "eat this today, that tomorrow" like some of those e-diets, but it's a free start.

all you really need to do is make sure that 25-30% of your diet consists of veggies, and your total caloric intake is less than 2k per day, and you're golden~

That's not the issue. The issue is, making that happen while eating different and interesting things.

I can keep my diet just fine, but I run out of ideas after chicken and asparagus.

Plus, chicks like it when you cook for them.

Last night I had:

Cracked pepper turkey with turkey bacon, balsamic tomato and low fat cheese on half a whole wheat english muffin. I had two of those with some green beans and it was pretty awesome. And only took like 10 minutes to make!

When you start eating again, even small amounts, it goes straight to storage.

Storage = Fat

Yep.. but some more advice

Also, try tracking your intake in http://www.fitday.com and read up on basic nutrition. Ediets must but be good since it is so succesful but consider also just picking up a few healthy cookbooks and tracking your food intake in general. I eat what I want for the most part but just smaller portions and do make an effort to balance out my total calories.
I also stay away from very high fat and high sugar foods. Usually not more than 10grams of each in a serving and typically less than that. I also think its key that you don't starve yourself or as mentioned you will just store it as fat. Pick balanced food combos that are going to fill you up the longest so you are not hungry in 2 hours. Making sure lean protein and/or healthy fats are included in ever meal. Most of the time stick with simple carbs only after or during periods of exercise. I also have berries occasionally with my oatmeal and protein in the morning - they are a thermogenic and get the metabolism going. If I'm on the run I tend to just grab a couple cheese sticks - 160 cal and 12g protein plus a south beach bar or something similar. Breakfast is a critical meal.. it sets the tone for your entire day so never skip it.

It is cool you want to be creative and cook.. food should be enjoyed and yes.. chicks dig guys that can cook.. so when you coming over to cook for me? :wink: :wink: :wink:

You can -
1) Balance your meals (good protein/healthy fat and don't drink a lot of liquid with them.
2) Stay away from Sugar and simple carbs and go for stuff with fiber.
3) Eat at regular intervals during the day - ie smaller meals ever 3 hours or larger every 5 depending on your needs.
4) Never skip a meal or breakfast.. don't let your stomach dicate when you eat.. eat on schedule.
5) If exercising make sure you consider pre and post workout nutrition.

If you follow the above then you won't be hungry.
