So I'm down to 180-185

Postby Harrison » Mon Jul 21, 2008 1:08 pm

I was in shape before, but now I feel damned near unstoppable. I typically just put 15 miles in on the bike and then go hop on the treadmill for another 5 miles. I don't like doing anything else while I'm there alone.

I still go to the gym by myself which is...really, really, really boring.

That's badass man... you are like, smaller than me now :-x

I wish I had my motivation back... before the wedding, I was kicking ass to get back in shape and everything... since then, I just haven't cared... it has only been like, 4 weeks but I *know* I've put on 10lbs... haven't worked out a single day... eating like crap... I have no idea what I need to get it back.

Don't mean to dump on your cong thread... just kind of wish I was back where I was (mentally) and it looks like you are totally there. Soooo... cong =p

good job man

last time i Got Serious about slimming down, i think i went at it a little too hard. i lost about 30lbs worth of fat, gained 15lbs of muscle, then gave it all up when i broke my toe on thanksgiving day

took a while before i felt i could run on it again, and by then i was already losing ground fast-- holiday eating FTL! after slacking off most of last year, another round of holiday eating, and the grueling fulltime work/fulltime school schedule, i'm pretty much back where i'm at (plus some leftover muscle)

now i'm trying to get back into it-- eating better, walking more, etc., and once the weather cools off i plan to do morning runs if school/work schedule allows

funny thing is, no one believes me when i tell them i've gained 80 lbs since moving to lincoln in 1999, pretty much because i'm so tall i always *look* thin

I still don't notice a difference but people make "big deal" of it who haven't seen me in a few years.

I'll try to get a picture of me before I go out this weekend. I'm unshaven and going to bed. (work in 5 hours lol)

that's great, harriwin keep it up and make it your lifestyle change!

my good friend of many years started running, exercising and calorie counting a while back and now he has a six pack and runs 46 miles a week! I'm pretty proud of him. before, he was skinny, even though he ate what he wanted, but he knew he wasn't *healthy*. I haven't seen him yet but I bet he looks sexy as all hell. (legs!) I know he feels great, though and that's what counts. This is a guy, I wouldn't have thought would have ever taken an interest in his health. he truly impressed me.

my roommate's car recently busted so he's been biking it everywhere. already, within two weeks, he feels 10x better than before, and he doesn't have any fitness goals. It just goes to show that we could all use more exercise in order to feel better!

I want to drop balloons and confetti in this thread.

I was called scrawny last night. I wasn't too happy about that.

Seriously, I'd rather be called fat by a little bitch of a "man" than be called scrawny by anyone.

Ok, you fatty, so says the lean 6'1" 165 pounder :), personally I find it difficult to gain weight and keep it on, I realize that is the opposite of most tho.

There, now you should feel betta :)

Congratulations on your weight loss.

yeah grats man.... scrawny will be a welcome compliment if you keep that up once you get to your 30's and on.... as opposed too ---- diabetic, or obese, etc...

I probably have been able to do this for awhile now, and probably have been without knowing it but...

I just ran over 7 miles in under an hour. That averages out to less than 10 minutes per mile. I am proud of myself, personally. Because, that's a big milestone I remember trying to reach in high school running track.

I only did that today because I forgot the gym closes at 7pm on weekends.
