then maybe try earning my respect once in a while?
i don't imagine much will change if O faceplants, considering he wasn't my candidate in 2008 and he's not my candidate in 2012. i certainly won't take it as personally as you would if R eats it.
1) i'm sure i will continue to help organize the push for more third-party options (green especially, but certainly libertarian as well) because the either/or coke-or-pepsi duopoly and its related game theory is IMO way more anathema to the ideas of a constitutional republic and good governance than virtually anything else "wrong" with the modern system, with the possible exception of militant ignorance and escapism in the populace.
2) i'll also continue to agitate for an end to corporate personhood and the protection of anonymous campaign cash and so-called "dark money". you and i don't agree on very much, but i have a hard time imagining you approve of (at least the results of) the egregious erosion of campaign finance regulations that has occurred over the past few election cycles. whether you'll admit it might be a different story, but it's folly to deny the overwhelming saturation of dollars in this campaign season and the way it has pushed the national conversation into the "post-truth" era
3) finally, if R wins, i would expect a sizable backlash in the 2014 midterm against his draconian austerity measures that could very well sweep liberals and progressives into power much in the same way that 2010 was the year of the right-wing errorists. if that prediction comes true, and if i'm feeling particularly daring, i might throw my hat in the ring for the May 2014 state senate primary as a third party candidate. my left-leaning district's current progressive senator will be term-limited out, and while i don't expect to survive against whoever the reps and dems throw in the ring, it would be fun as heck, and i bet i'd at least make a splash.
if O wins, neither 1 or 2 will change. 3 might get harder though.
