Ok, so like I said in another post... I'm going to hope and pray that obummer doesn't do any more irreversible damage to the country via socialist implementation of new laws and/or executive orders that continue to punish success and champion mediocrity. I must admit that these election results are a complete disappointing head-scratcher, given the polling statistics and latest trends just before the election. It's also interesting that the Kremlin called to congratulate obummer, and Putin had a big smile on his weasely face. However, I still agree with, and support, our electoral college system, and the republicans are gonna have to work with dems, and keep that bipartisan bickering to a minimum. Also, Romney's concession speech was very classy.

agreed on the last two points, lulz at the rest

i have to ask though, has it occurred to you yet that your poll sources are biased? state by state by state, the results rolled out pretty much exactly the way the polls i watched said they would, with the only real exception that 538blog had florida going red (though huffingtonpost showed a last minute half-point obama lead that turned out to be precisely true)

agreed that mitt's concession speech was well done. i, too, am hoping for some good bipartisan efforts and that some really cool stuff will happen in the next four years. also really proud of the four states that defended equal rights for gays. all in all, pretty happy aside from bob kerrey's loss in nebraska. but that was expected.

mindia, i'm truly sorry you're disappointed with the results, but i hope we can all move forward maturely and with an appreciation for the fact that at least we have a democratic process, even though it may not be perfect, and can vote for our beliefs without fear.

My typo, haste got the best of me there.

It also is a pretty strong signal that he's doing a lot of things they way the people want. I mean this wasn't even remotely close. Obama won by a landslide despite all doom and gloom that has been painted, the libya issue, etc.

I think Mitt was doomed from the get go as he was chewed up on spit on a lot during the GOP run offs.

I hope the GOP begins to learn from history because if they continue to be so polorized on issues, I just don't see another red president for years to come. The GOP today is just way too far on the fringe.

You know what really frightens me about obummer? (srspost) He is gutting medicare, and making radical changes to it, for the worse. The death panels are REAL. If you're 76 or older, and come down with a serious illness (which was previously and presently operable), your "case" will be examined by a panel (not doctors mind you), and that panel will decide if you get treatment OR medicine (pain killers) to "keep you comfortable" while you are dying. That is so fucked up and quite contrary to the obummer mantra of caring for everybody. I have parents in their 70's. They are frightened, and it kills me to see them that way. And obummer's claim, "if you already have insurance, nothing will change" is a blatant LIE. You will either have to switch to one of the obummercare healthcare packages OR pay a $1200 penalty, and the obummercare packages will all be less comprehensive than most private health care packages. How the fuck is that beneficial to the middle class? The national debt is another major concern. Four years ago, the left was bitching and moaning about Bush adding almost 4 trillion dollars to the national debt in 8 years, yet obummer added almost 7 trillion dollars to the national debt in 3.5 years... yet you don't hear a peep from the left about that. I can see obummer raising our national debt to about 20 trillion by the end of his 2nd term. That is scary because the end result of that is another stake through the heart of the value of the dollar. Our kids and grandkids and great-grandkids are gonna have to pay for obummer's out-of-control spending. How anybody voted for this clown a 2nd time will forever remain a mystery to me.

If you CHOOSE to NOT carry insurance, you will pay a penalty. That part stinks but you do NOT have to drop your current insurance and switch to the public option.

He spent what he had to in preventing the financial collapse. Other than that, there is no ridiculous spending spree. He's actually been quite conservative on spending considering the financial climate.

Just to show you that I'm not pulling my info from a conservative site: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162- ... nder-bush/ and that snapshot was from 8 months ago.

. No didn't have to spend that much to prevent a financial collapse.
