Hooray for a country where stocking up on assault rifles while they're legal will probably earn you 20x more money in the long run than your 401k's!!! (if they get banned).

I don't see anything over the top in that list.

He did call for those restrictions, along with calling for closing the gun show loophole for background checks. However, Congress would have to enact those changes, as he doesn't have the power to do that himself. So, I wasn't discussing things that might or might not happen. Just wanted opinions on those 23 items he DID do.

Honestly, if we're going to ban assault weapons, I'd FAR prefer we went the Australian route, and ban them retroactively, while simultaneously putting in a buyback program to compensate people when they turn in the firearms that are now illegal. Worked for them, no reason it can't work here.

And yeah, I didn't see anything even remotely close to over the top in the list of executive actions either. I am sure some wingnuts somewhere will get their panties in a twist over them, though. Obama could say that the sky is blue, and the same wingnuts would spin a conspiracy theory out of it.

As for those 23 arlos I think I suggested a lot of those and dont think that list by itself is that menacing. The other shit im listening to him say right now does not make me very happy at all. I can only hope that congress cock blocks some of the sillier suggestions.

Also I really hate the if we can save one life logic people use when talking about guns yet when that line of logic is applied to other things im told thats silly.

Im fine with registered weapons and more steps in the background checks as I will pass and im not a crook. Im fine with closing of gun shows as Ive said thats how a lot of the wrong people get them. Im fine with more checks on mental health as I feel that theres a lot of unstable people out there.

Only things im not ok with would be a ban on conceal and carry, mag restrictions , and bans on certain kinds of rifles and shot guns. Those rights get respected and im down to debate anything else

Oh, and Harrison: An AR-15 is functionally identical to an M-16, save for the burst fire selector switch. The M-16 is the TEXTBOOK definition of an assault rifle. So, when you claim that an AR-15 is NOT an assault rifle you are absolutely, factually, provably wrong.

rofl.

The ar-15 is not an assault rifle. You can keep trying to call it one, but it's not.

You really can hunt small game with an ar 15 and you can take hogs with an ak m14 or ar 10 easy. Just want to put that out there.

A hunting rifle is "functionally identical" to a sniper rifle, so it needs to be banned too. That's military grade weaponry. We need to get all of those off the streets.

I can't even believe there are grown adults saying some of the things I'm seeing.

how is someone pointing out that you're a dipshit making an ass of yourself for the 60th time in this thread "american politics"?
