Nancy Pelosi... /sigh

Postby Narrock » Tue Apr 30, 2013 7:51 pm

Now the stupid bitch wants us all to pay into a preschool system for everybody else's kids. WTF is wrong with this cunt? I mean, is this America or the Soviet Union part 2? This is exactly why I will never, as long as I live, ever EVER vote for a fucking dummycrat. This administration is absolutely insane. :eyecrazy: Definitely the most bizarre and insane administration EVER.

Not to mention, it saves money in the long run, since every single study shows that kids who go through preschool perform better in later years, with less chances of dropping out, etc. So, just that one thing means education improves across the board, and not as much money needs to be thrown at fixing bad performance later. Win-win all around, really. Can't understand any rational reason whatsoever for anyone to oppose the idea.

Big surprise. What you guys don't get is that it's not Family A's responsibility to PAY for Family B-Z's family. Period. If you can't afford to send your child to preschool, don't have a fucking kid. Don't rely on somebody else to take care of YOUR kids for you.

You could make EXACTLY the same argument about ANY public schooling, whether it's kindergarten, elementary school, middle school or high school. We ALL pay to educate each other's children, because that directly improves all of society. This only changes the year public schooling starts at. With huge benefits as a result too, including a net SAVINGS of money in the long run.

George Orwell would be spinning in his grave. Look Arlos, I know you're a liberal/quasi-socialist, but that doesn't mean you need to embrace every single stupid idea they come up with. Even my wife who is a proud socialist thinks this is a bad idea.

So because we think there are massive advantages to better educating our children, and want to start doing so a year or two earlier, we're suddenly living in an Orwellian nightmare? How does that equate? We ALREADY have a public school system for all children from age 5-18. How does changing that to 4-18 somehow go from just fine to Orwellian? That makes ABSOLUTELY no sense to me. None.

It's yet another NEW tax proposal... another new distribution-of-wealth disaster waiting to happen. We don't need this. Funny how children who never went to preschool for that ONE YEAR prior to kindergarten turned out to be wealthy, productive members of society. Oh, and the "studies" that were conducted were done so *mostly* by obama-appointed cronies... big shocker. Again, you don't have to agree with every idea they come up with. Stop towing the political line, please.

I like how you assume the reasons why I support this. I support it because I think it is an incredibly good idea. Like I said, it *SAVES* money in the long run. Plus improves education across the spectrum. You're just disliking it because the original proposal came from a Democrat. I could just as easily say something as content-free as you did, by saying, "Stop reflexively opposing anything with a D next to it."

Well let's face it. Nancy Pelosi is an insane person and that is exhibited by everthing she's come up with and supported for YEARS. Also, there's a lot of conservatives I don't like and don't agree with it. And on a side note, you'll see how gigantic of a flop "obamacare" is going to turn out to be. Just give it a couple years.

Yeah, while every other civilized nation on the planet educates their people, takes care of their sick and elderly and invests in future technologies, the US should continue to berate the poor, kick everyone who's lower on the ladder than us, force entire generations in to soul sucking debt for their education, find new ways to consume even more fossil fuels and let everyone who can't afford astronomical health care prices, die.

Way to stay competitive. USA! USA!

Fuck.

Because making sure that someone doesn't get something that they may not "deserve" is much more important than having a healthy, happy, well educated and forward thinking population.

My daughter is just wrapping up pre k 3. That's 3 years of preschool at $450 a month for 10 months a year. Increase my taxes by 1k instead? Sign me up!

Hopefully, you're not being a hypocrite then and sending your daughter to private school.

Funny you should say that. It's because of our shitty public school system that we're looking into a private Christian school. But we won't have to worry about it for a while because she starts kindergarten in September of 2014. :). http://providence-christian.org/

She's a fiscal liberal and social moderate, leaning more conservative. If she wasn't at least a social moderate, we wouldn't be together.

really? either deliver on that boast or fuck off with your empty threats, because i'm curious how you can bash public education as evil creeping socialism while acting entitled to the use of public utilities and then turn around and argue they're not similar at all

the ostensibly pro-tier amount of cognitive dissonance in your statement leads me to the conclusion that either nobody ever actually explained to you what socialism really is and you're just taking context clues from howling right-wing talk radio propaganda fearmongers OR you are just a greedy piece of shit who doesn't give a fuck about anyone you're not related to

i guess either way gg you lose

Mindia, basically every major problem facing society can be traced back to a disparity in income. Sure we'd all love to live in a world where there are no taxes and rich people just build roads for everyone and just charge them for it, and sell water for profit and we have a private police force, but eventually after all the rich become ultra rich and all the poor become ultra poor, you’re going to have to start thinking about those dreaded social issues. So now we have desperate people, making horrible decisions and wreaking a terrible havoc on your dystopia. What to do? You can either brutalize them and teach them not to act desperately (doesn't work), or you can use some of that vast wealth to help educate, feed, cloth, people. Don't think of it as a hand out, think of it as a means to curb issues that otherwise are not going away with the big stick method. It's an investment in crime prevention. You're a conservative, so you must be tough on crime, right?

I bet you'd happily take all the money for these types of social programs and give to jails and cops to just keep the same archaic system in place without ever addressing the real issue. Desperate people do desperate things. People who feel they have nothing often act like they have nothing to lose.

I know this was a waste of time but I'm bored at work today so I decided to play in the mud.
