There were only a handful of people who could actually max their tradeskills and almost all of them had no lives.

I don't know how EQII works, but as long as tradeskilling is difficult I think the rewards should be good.

It's just as time consuming to get to 80 in tradeskilling as it is to get to 80 in adventuring in EQ2. I think it's a pretty balanced system atm, honestly.

That's cool - we can all agree to disagree.

But, Mar - the tradeskill system isn't designed to make you rich - or at least it shouldn't be. If it's wealth you want - make a prov or an alchemist.

Again, this is just my opinion - but you should be able to make your armor that's good enough to help you level and complete quests - not so you can turn your tune in a coin machine. /shrug

It's hard trying to get people to do quests - all they want to do is freaking craft shit OR harvest so they sell the rares.

Like I said - we can agree to disagree. I love the game, but I don't care for the tradeskilling.

What level are you now, Diekan?

that was pre-luclin

luclin added a ton of recipes that were easy to lvl on, and in fact, every raider had to get their smithing to 175+ to make ssra bane weapons. tons ended up just continuing with tradeskills

then PoP came out and tradeskills became trivial

Well that sure changed. Years ago during OoW they made a lot of epic 1.5 and 2.0 quest parts based around some trade skill that you couldn't MQ. And even still, Elegant armor is some of the best you can get if you have the time to make all of the augments (pieces drop from raid targets) for them. Less and less actual armor drops nowadays. It's more like weapons, rings, augment, or pieces of the combine for a sweet augment... and then the main armor slots are left to the smithing/tailoring ppl. It's a good balance because there's at least 10% of your guild that does shit like that and now they have something to do. You can buy some Dwerium armor and get like 25ac 450hp/mn 25save all rings/ears for a grand total of something like 6k..... tradeskills help get higher lvl chars started and serve a huge purpose now

There's a sign in Stratholme too, ,that says "Legacy of Steel - Fine Weaponry" when you hover your mouse over it.

There's all sorts of other Nameless easter eggs too. An auctioneer named Beardo, for example.

Mudcrush in the swamp, Rhap drunk in some zone I can't remember. Plus all the random guards named after LoS members. First Mate Crazz of course.

I always hoped the Tauren Gann in the barrens was named by an old Nameless player.

"Gann" was a Taiwanese expression. They used it all the time, and that's probably why someone from Blizzard named that Tauren in the Barrens that way.
