Re: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser

well... it perhaps depends on how far gone it is? I got an all-clad 12" skillet for my birthday a couple years ago and it got that yucky oil stuff on it. Took me til a couple months ago to think to try the Eraser on it. I can't get it ALL off, but I keep plugging away at it! It's nearly all gone now ...

Re: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser

I love these things too! They came out at the tail end of my professional house cleaning days. Assuming they are too good to be true, I researched and found a few concerned posts online who said they were poison to pets and sensitive folk. I am about the most chemically sensitive person there is ...

They do 3 different budget levels, $1000 Value Gamer, $2500 High End, and $4000 Extreme. They have it set up to buy everything you need, including OS, monitor, mouse, etc. They do one Intel, and one AMD build for each guide, talk some about ...

Re: FREEQ, So Who are you playing atm?

I had a similar problem which also took me ages to fix. It turned out I was blocking the airholes in my case. I could run my trader full time no problem. But if I tried to 2box, it might be fine for a few hours, or it might lock up in 10 minutes. Completely random. Then one day, I moved the file ...

Re: We went to go see

Elitism leads to smaller audiences which leads to less financial support which leads to fewer arts performances.

Portland, Oregon is typically very tolerant of any attire. At any given event there will be people of all ages, from little kids to elderly folks. Attire runs the gamut of denim to tulle ...

Drem, you are a genius! Adding the protein powder a little at a time made it blend in much better.

PS on emulsifying: I made Hummus a couple of days ago. The recipe called for adding the tahini/olive oil slowly while the food processor was running. That made the Hummus WAY smoother and lighter ...

Smoothies don't really require a recipe. Here's what I do every morning for the past 3 weeks (3 weeks down, 101 ...

Re: So I've never been to a funeral.

My first funeral must have been my great-gramma when I was about 5. I've been to plenty, but I guess that follows with having a big family. Most recent was totally cool great uncle Gene, last weekend. I agree with Leah, everyone processes in their own way. I react to every loss differently. Take ...

The weather here is freakish too (Portland OR), nearly 80 last week and then it snows in the foothills...

My cousin got sick of the drizzles in the NW and took himself on a tour of ski resorts all over the west. He started out in Hawaii to cheer himself up (it worked!). He has met all kinds of ...

Congrats Gyps! A friend of mine still speaks fondly of his days in Raleigh when he was a kid, his dad is a professor. That was 35-40 years ago so I'm glad it's still a happy place to live =)

I would not hesitate to move, if I wanted to live in a different place, with or without a job at the other ...

Sounds like things are looking up, Araby! I want to say I enjoyed reading your stories, but that doesn't sound right - but I do enjoy your writing style. If you enjoyed the writing, I hope you continue it! I hope things continue to get better for you.

Re: Someone hit my truck.

Definitely file a report.

I got hit 25 or so years ago and considered not filing, because the damage was primarily cosmetic. But, when I asked my lawyer friends about this, I was informed that if she DID file, and i did NOT file, the accident would be deemed MY fault, regardless.

There was a ...

Re: Identity Theft

Location location location. The biggest thing the seal hunt has going against it is, it's all (mostly?) within one country: Canada. That makes a nice tidy target.

It kinda sucks, in a way, because there are atrocities committed in your backyard that you may not be aware of, because you are ...

Re: Identity Theft

Different places slaughter their animals in different ways. Some of them are EXACTLY as inhumane as clubbing baby seals. It is partly to do with the cute factor of baby seals, for sure. I would far prefer all animals be slaughtered "humanely" but the definition of "humane" varies from human to human ...

Dictating someone else's frugality is about as productive as herding cats.

Money and spending habits are intensely personal. Someone can have the exact opposite spending philosophy you have, and still be absolutely correct, for their values.

Re: EQ2 class

Race makes very little difference. The biggest difference for me so far is having a fairy (good or evil) means I don't die jumping off of cliffs (yes, I do tend to jump off cliffs a lot). High elves also get a falling buff so they don't die jumping off most stuff either. Not sure which others get ...
