1. Artisan levels increase seperate from adventuring levels.
2. Fishing, Trapping, Gathering are your primary sources of componants.
3. Use food appropriate for your level range.
I dont make food but I use it. I am currently using 3 hour level 30 food and drink, high satiation. It's blue to me but it lasts for almost a whole gaming session, it only cost me 3 gold for half a stack, so I am not complaining. I can make back the 3 gold in about the time it takes to use 1 food and 1 drink.
With the recent changes provisioners are the money makers, hands down. If I were to start crafting it would probably be provisioner or armor smith.
