Music players

Postby Samboa » Sun Jan 30, 2005 12:57 pm

Ok, so I've been using either windows media player or musicmatch to play music on my computer, but I've been having a bit of a problem. it seems that they will stop playing randomly. Like, I'll leave my computer on overnight and come back, and it will show the progress through the track and say its playing, but no sound will come out. I haven't changed any settings between them working/not working. Any recommendations? Fixes? New players?

http://www.foobar2000.com

super small footprint with built in ability to do global hotkeys.

ideal if you have a shitty system you want to game on whilst listening to the music.

Hi guys I don't feel like starting a new thread so I'm just gonna ask here. I downloaded 2cds that are ended up being in .mpc format. And I don't know wtf this is; nero won't burn it, wmp won't play it, winamp doesn't list it on it's "what it'll play" list so I haven't tried downloading that yet. Does anyone have any suggestions?

You make this sound easy. How do I do such a task in xp? Right click or properties don't work. I tried even opening it with notepad but the save-as option doesn't arise. I truely am computer illiterate.

Question: Can God download a music file so ambiguous He Himself cannot use?

Answer: It would seem so.

Changing it to mp3 won't work. Foobar2k will play them.

Awesome thanks a lot. So last question, is there a way to burn these files to an audio disc?

edit: f it I just downloaded a burnable version. I like this foobar though, perhaps more than wmp.

because winamp is worthless

if you import those files into an iTunes library, it will offer to convert them to .mp3 or .m4a, along with categorising all of your imported music files into their own organised folders and sub-folders automatically and allowing you to subsequently burn them to a CD at your leisure.
