Need Firewall replacement for Kerio

Postby Ouchyfish » Fri Nov 04, 2005 12:24 pm

I read that kerio was not going to be staying around and was wondering of a possible suggestion for a good firewall that won't suck all of my resources like Norton did. Zone Alarm seems to suck ass so I don't think I want to use them. Anyone know anything about Black ice?

Thanks.

My uncle used to use Black Ice in the early 90s.

I have a hardware firewall myself *shrug*

Go hardware, software firewalls just are not worth it.

Right now I have no firewall except for the windows firewall which I had heard was a joke at best. I am starting to wonder if I really need one. I do not have anything sensitive on my system. I use it for social email and WoW and that's about it. (Cable always on though.)

Just trying to find a free/cheap option for now.

zone alarm works fine as long as you don't just automatically click "allow" every time it pops up

Yeah, no real complaints about ZoneAlarm here. I'm not really a firewall expert but I've had no problems with my pc since I started using it.
