Merlin Legend phone system

Postby Maeya » Mon Mar 06, 2006 9:38 am

I think I've asked before and no one had any real experience in programming the Merlin Legend system, but I'll try again anyway out of desperation.

We have like 4 humongous binders of programming information, but without understanding the basic lingo and system basics, I'm having a hard time locating what I'm looking for.

Here's the situation:

Employees at our office are frequently switching cubicles. I can change the extensions around to follow them (so extension 25 stays 25 even at another cube), but the programming associated with each phone doesn't seem to switch with the extension.

We used to have an admin assistant that sat directly across from me using extension 21. That phone was set to have primary coverage (or that's what I think it's called after trying to reasearch this), meaning that when a call comes into our office from outside, it would ring immediately. After 5 rings, if extension 21 or my extension (10) didn't pick up, it would roll to our secondary coverage (extensions 15 and 19).

Well, we no longer have an admin assistant so extension 21 is not in use. Extension 25 was moved to sit directly across from me, and though I moved extensions so it's not 25 across from me, it still rings on incoming calls like it has primary coverage. Primary coverage didn't follow extension 21 to it's new location.

What I need to figure out (and am having no success) is how to remove coverage from extension 25 and reassign it to 21's new location. I don't want extension 25 to ring at all on incoming calls to our office from outside lines (no primary or secondary coverage), only when someone from the office either calls or transfers a call to them.

Anyone at all familiar with anything similiar that can either point me to some resources or maybe knows how to do what I'm trying to describe?

I have a post on tektips.com, but I'm not familiar with how quickly they respond and it nees to be handled soon.

Thanks in advance =/
