Lag Issue

I just bought my son a new computer and upgraded his old one (Pentium 2, 1200GHz processor) with a new 128MB vid card and 512MB RAM. In some EQ zones it works fine enough. I was in PoV and the lag bar was bleeding all over. Anything I could do to make this go away? I work with a cable modem and the other comp is running fine...
