Updating Bios just screws up computer

I kow what you are already gonna say, if it isnt borke dont fix it....


Was hoping the bios update would help with performance and the occasional random computer resets.. (temp aint an issue).

Have an older MSI KT266 Pro board, version 1.4 bios.

Updated to 1.9 2 dif ways, the live updater (turned off all the extra programs less min windows ME needs), never would restart.

Updated from floppy drive: Restarted but would run for about 2 min then reboot.


Reupdated to old 1.4 working, but once in a blue moon still getting the random restarts.

Hardware Failure????
