Is 55 degrees celcius too hot?

Postby Aatrex » Wed Jul 06, 2005 8:37 pm

I just moved. I had my computer sitting in the front seat of my car out in the sun most of the day while I moved other stuff in. I brought computer inside and let it cool for at least an hour. I start it up. After about 5 minutes of being on the BIOS alarm starts going off. I check the CPU temperature and it says that it's at like 56c.

I have done no overclocking or any modding. PC worked fine before I moved it.

Could leaving it out in the car in the sun have messed it up? (The case was like burning hot when I picked it up :( )

The CPU I have is: Processor x86 Family 6 Model 10 Stepping 0 AuthenticAMD ~2079 Mhz

How hot are these processors supposed to run?

I really don't want to buy a new heatsink/processor as I really don't know wtf I'm doing with all that crap.

Help me fix it >.<

Thanks
