Internet Explorer help

Postby Tacks » Thu May 06, 2004 11:08 am

This just started the other day after I got home from vacation. I haven't gone to any sites I don't normally go to or anything like that. When I open up explorer and the page fully loads it just closes out automatically. As long as stuff is loading on the page it won't close. Also when I try to right click a link to open in a new window it just closes the first window and opens up the new window. In other words I cannot view more than 1 window at a time in IE. After opening a link like 50 times the problem seems to go away, but I don't want to refresh each page 50 times just to have it not shut down, help thx~

Spyware? Pop-up blockers?

Suggestions:

Update your AV program.

Use Avant instead.

Uninstall and reinstall IE.

I ran ad-aware and got rid of everything. Popup blocker is disabled. I tried to redownload IE 6 but I can't actually find the full version on Microsoft's website. All I could find was service pack 1 and it says I already have a newer version.

Well it must be something IE related because I downloaded the one you suggested Martrae and I'm not having the problems anymore. I guess I will just use this till I can find the full version of IE6 to re-download.
