AVG restart wtf

Postby Ouchyfish » Wed Jan 25, 2006 4:37 pm

On my machine, AVG can update, install update, and all is right with the world.

On my brother's PC it demands a reboot and the tray icon goes grey.

Also, on his machine the hosts file gives an error when scanning for viruses and mine does not. WTF

Yaarrrr

Sure as shit does. =( I ran that kapersky virus scan that someone else mentioned, I think it was Arlos (thanks btw) and it found 7 viruses that AVG didn't find. Guess it's back to Norton on his machine.

AVG updates their definitions almost daily. Doubt there is a virus out there it won't catch if you keep it updated.

Hmm. I'll have to see if another AVG scan will find it.

Create a rescue disk and boot off of it. Then run the scan.

Reinstall AVG....might just be a bad install.

Uninstalled avg, reinstalled--no longer demanding restart after update, but still isn't finding viruses.

That kapersky found 20+ but when it was done disappeared!
