My ISP (cableone.net) offers this 5 megabit service for like 70 bucks a month. It is the biggest residential package they offer. When I first signed up for this, I was getting about 600-700k/s downloads and now for the last week or so I have been throttled down to around 200-250 k/s.

I have read that if you go over some set maximum long enough that they will throttle you down for 2 hours and if you're good during those 2 hours, they'll open it back up however it is no longer "opening back up" and for the last 2 weeks i have been stuck at 200k/s consistantly.

I called them and asked and they said everything was fine but...wtf??!

I wish there was a better alternative in this area...I don't like having shit throttled unless my god damn bill is going to be throttled as well.

Anything I can do? Only other option here is DSL and it's slower than 200 k/s.
