Visual Studio.NET Equivilant Program?

Postby Adivina » Sun Apr 16, 2006 12:21 pm

Are there any programs that serve as the equivilant of Visual Studio.NET? In order to install Visual Studio.NET on my home computer for work purposes I need to have IIS enabled, and when I try to enable it I get prompted to put in my Windows CD. I lost my backup copy of the disk, Mr. Harrison has the original, and I can't go get it at this moment (car in the shop). It would be nice to not write my programs that I need for tommorow in Notepad. I was wondering if there was any program similar to VS.N that I could download.

If you have a legit licenced copy, torrentz.com. Technically, your not stealing since you actually own the product. Their happens to be one up there right now that should download fairly quickly.

I have Visual Studio.NET install CD right in front of me. I just need IIS enabled which it is not letting me do without putting in my windows disk. :( Gonna see if IIS is on a torent though I doubt it, seeing as it comes with all windows legit or cracked.

IIS is used for hosting webservices or other remote data connections to SQL server.

You shouldnt need it unless you wish to do either of the above.

Yes I need it :P

Visual Studio.NET Professional will not install on your computer unless you meet a number of requirements. The installer will just stop and turn off.

1) Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional or XP Professional, if you have home edition you are screwed for this version of VS.NET. (No worries there I have XP Pro.)

2) Internet Information Server

3) Access 2000 or Access XP

4) Personal Oracle 91 (optional can use an online database if you need it)

VS.NET Pro is a fucking evil program lol

VS.NET Pro really is annoying. C# can be very annoying but atleast to an extent it makes sence :)

I know both, but I am in still in school hence when a professor assigns a program to be written using a certain language and application, you have to use the one they say, this class in particular is Active Server Pages, and it mainly focuses on the use of VB and Visual Studio. ><

I use Microsoft's free <a href="http://www.asp.net/webmatrix">Web Matrix</a>, but I do mostly ASP.Net, not VB.Net.

Of course, <a href="http://www.jedit.org">jEdit</a> and the command-line .Net compiler work great together too.
