Postby Ganzo » Fri Sep 07, 2007 9:15 am

so my dad got new 19" widescreen LCD monitor, I hooked it up to his pc and no matter what setting i put in, it looks like shit( like 256 color from dos days), also it stretches the picture on the screen

i updated video drivers, tried different cable; now have no clue other than getting new video card, now he's plugged into onboard

any ideas?

Have you installed the monitor drives as well as the video drivers? Had the same problem with mine until I actually installed the monitor drivers.

What resolution do you have the video set at?

19" monitor probably needs 1440x900 native resolution to give you the best display. Also try a different refresh if it will let you, 59, 60 or 61

My LCD panel looks like SHIT on my old PC with a Geforce 4 MX card but once I hooked it up to my Mac, it looks great. It could be that the card just doesn't support the necessary refresh/resolution that the LCD needs.
