Laptop cleaning

Postby DangerPaul » Tue Mar 02, 2010 8:28 pm

So my wife spilled tea all over her laptop and typing on it is like walking on the movie theater floor. I will be the first to admit I know nothing about laptops, how hard is it to clean the keyboard or is this thing simply fucked?

Not too bad if all the keys still actually work.

For the effort involved, you are probably better off just getting a new keyboard for your laptop; it will run you like $50 for the keyboard and maybe $25 in labor if you go to a decent shop (half an hour of work).

ditto

its not worth the time to clean it (you have to separate it from the unit, remove all the keys, clean each one, etc etc)

Yeah, taking apart a laptop is something you'll only ever do once.
