Ripping DVDs Question

Can anyone give me a good settings set for ripping a DVD to basically just include the main movie in the best video quality and 5.1 surround sound?

I've been playing with a few of the demo ones (winx dvd ripper, can't remember the other names) and I can never seem to get a good quality product and I never get 5.1 even though I feel like I'm setting it for that in the settings.

Or any suggestions on a great ripper (I don't mind paying 30 bucks if there's one that's really good / easy) that simplifies everything.
