Regarding the Sonics' signing of Ray Allen, "He may not be worth $16 million a year in 2009-10, but he should retain some of his value. Did the Sonics overpay? Probably. Was it as bad as the deal Jerome James signed with the Knicks? Not even close".

John Hollinger: Certainly Jerome James was the most ridiculous signing of the year, but I think a lot of folks were already aware of that. Of course, Eddy Curry might be the next one on the list ...

Joe Johnson deserves a mention, although Jerome James is number 1.
