I love Rich Franklin fights... I think he's just amazing in the ring. Like... he's just totally prepared for his opponent... You can totally tell the difference between the 'champs' and those that are simply contenders too. People like Liddell and Franklin are perfect examples... if their opponent slips, they freaking jump all over them and the match is all over. You watch the younger fighters and those little weaknesses are not nearly as exploited. Franklin will exploit ANYTHING. If you favor one leg over the other, he'll attack your weak leg all day.

But... Andrei Arlovski (A, not O.. just looked it up... oops) is seriously my favorite. I think the only reason he lost to Tim Silvia is because he just underestimated him. Andrei DESTROYED him in their first matchup... he thought he'd be a breeze the second time around. If you watched all the other Arlovski fights, he freaking destroys his opponents, every freaking time. The first time they fought, it was for the interim belt that Frank Mir had to give up because of his motorcycle accident. Andrei and Tim were the 'best 2' contenders at the time. Andrei demolished Tim... and then Andrei defended his belt 5 or 6 times after that... in CONVINCING fashion... seriously, download them and see for yourself... he freaking DESTROYS his opponents... both on the floor (by smashing the fuck out of their face) or on the ground (submissions and chokes). Tim has NO ground game. He's very much like Liddell... good segue..

Who... I don't like... at all. I'm a big Cotoure fan, even if I'm not spelling his name right. BOTH fights he lost to Liddell he lost on slips. That sucks... but... shit happens. I like him because he's a lot more rounded than Liddell. Chuck has NO game on the ground, which SHOULD define the belt holders. Matt Hughes is as well rounded as it gets... Rich Franklin is a close second... and Andrei (as soon as he retakes it from Tim 'bitch' Silvia) is a pretty well rounded fighter as well. Liddell HAS to fight on his feet. Get a good light heavyweight contender who can take Chuck's punches well enough to get in close and throw him down... boom, the fight is over.

So... my favorites are... Andrei, Franklin, Hughes... and... fuck if I can remember his name... the runner-up to the first season... that guy is a great fighter.

I dont think its that he has no ground game i think he just knows he can do a lot more damage standing. I also think part of its not wanting to get all worn the fuck out grappling. Andrei arlowski is a bad bad dude but i think silvias just as wicked. If he was a punk ass the pit bull woulda killed him a second time too no ? Rich franklin owns too. Saw rich franklin and evan tanner on unleashed the other night. Was great. I just dont think anyone looks half as sweet when they brawl as chuck liddel. Any fight with lots of punching/kicking/kneeing to the face and head is the best imo

ya the guys that can't fight on the ground, or at the very least defend down there will get decimated.

Liddel is definitely fun to watch. same with Hughes, especially after they show the other guy shit talking about how they're gonna take his belt. then hughes almost crushes their throat in a sleeper hold

Stephon Bonner, is who I'm assuming your talking about. And I agree Andre is a fucking machine, but Silvia is a fucking monster. The dudes got such a weight and reach advantage over people it's retarded. They will have a 3rd fight soon and I'm going to bet it goes to Arlosky, but I also wouldn't be supprised if Sivlia wins again.

diego sanchez from the first ultimate fighter is really good too. I used to like ken shamrock but after watching this season's ultimate fighter, I hope tito caves his head in.

There was this guy a while ago, I think his name was gary goodrich or something along those lines, he was a lot of fun to watch. I was never a fan of guys like coleman, frye or severn

Yeah.. Stephon Bonner. He's awesome. It's crazy because he looks like such a pretty boy and then he goes in there and totally kicks your ass. He's like... Vega from SF2.

Go download the other Silvia fights and compare those to the Arlovksi fights. Silvia barely wins some fights whereas Arlovksi just destroys people.

The last time I seriously watched UFC was when Tank Abbott was around. Out of curiosity I watched Ultimate Fighter with Forrest last year, and I think that got me interested again. I'd love to see this upcoming match.

I watched this once, and it was 25 minutes of psuedo wrestling shit talking coupled with 25 seconds of two idiots rolling around on the floor fighting like girls.

I liked Dan Severyn because he was a world class wrestler, and was able to win despite not being able to throw a punch to save his life, haha

Gracie vs Severyn was probably the greatest championship match in UFC history. I think that was UFC 3.. maybe 5. David vs Goliath... totally made you think... I mean, Gracie just barely submitted two of the guys before that match and Dan completely DESTROYED his previous opponents. You really thought he was going to demolish Royce. That final move... choking the big man against his own bulk... it was amazing.

Still... Gracie is too old to compete with Matt Hughes in his prime.

Hey, I'm not a Hughes fanboi or anything... I'd absolutely love to see Gracie win. I think it would be an amazing story... I just don't think it's going to happen.

I'm never going to forget that

Yup... you didn't even know HOW Gracie won it until they showed it on replay... and even then you were like... wait, what? Hold it... show that again? Whoah! His feet? Holy shit! HOLY SHIT! And then when you watched it again, you saw how long it took Royce to move into that position... how it was a planned strategy... took several minutes to position Dan into that completely compromising situation... his legs crawling up slowly... it was freaking unbelievable.

UFC was a bit of a trainwreck until that match

up till then it was interesting, but not really well done

but you toss in an olympic wrestler to give it credibility, then watch some guy destroy him in such a sneaky way, and boom, the sport takes off
