I dunno

he's a pretty good coach, and a good evaluator of talent
maybe just needs to find a couple of really strong coordinators and leave play calling to them

The Chargers retains Schottenheimer as coach for next season but he turned down a one-year extension for 2008 worth $4.5 million.
