hahaha, poor NY.

I'm happy though. Now New England has to go on the road in the playoffs.

I never understood that crap. Why blame ONLY the kicker, why not blame the defence who let the other points on the board, or the offense who could put more of them up there. No, blame special teams beacuse he missed the kick. Retards.

Because the kicker's job is basically simple: to kick the ball and make field goals in tight situations. He couldn't do it.

Also, he's a highly visible target. It's harder to point to a defensive back and say "If only he'd blocked that guy in the 2nd quarter, they'd have won the game."

Why blame the kicker? Well, it's simple... this isn't some college freshman in his first bowl game, who's never felt the pressure of an entire season / championship on his shoulders... THIS is a man who's playing in the National Football League. A man who's already been through four years of college ball and a few years of PRO ball.

There's no way in hell he should have missed TWO field goal attempts at that range. He's in the PRO'S - not college.

Missing one? Maaaayyyybbbeeee he can get away with that... but TWO? I don't think so. He deserves the blame placed on his shoulders, simple as that. HE cost them that game.

I was just as hard on Norwood when that fucker cost us the Super Bowl against the Giants so many years ago.

This putz deserves everything he gets.

The Jets went out there as absolute underdogs. NO ONE thought they had a snow balls chance of winning against a VERY tough Steelers team. They took the field and played their asses off. They did well, VERY well... and one man fucks it up and costs them the game. I'm not even a Jets fan and it pisses ME off. I hope he gets booted straight the unemployment line.

ARGH, my point is if the rest of the TEAM would have done a better job, then he wouldn't have been in that situation. PERIOD. Its a TEAM sport. This is not golf or tennis.

Yeah....and he let the team down when it came to his part of the game. Kizzy, that's all he does, kick the ball. It's what he's paid to do, and he didn't do it right.

1st miss wasn't his fault.. if you watch it again it was gonna be good then a gust of wind killed it... and 47 yard FG in cold weather isn't an easy kick. not including the Jets coach not tryin to gain a few extra yards with the offense. Lets see it hit the upright.. 1 more yard = made field goal.

2nd one he sucked the butt on.

But the offense couldn't score. If Ben didn't throw a bad pass, and the steelers didn't fuck up their kick coverage.. it woulda been easy win for the steelers

those to blame for that loss

herm Edwards
Jets offense
the O Coordinator
Pennington
doug brien
Jets Defense

in that order

I disagree. I just pointed out that they came out there and player their asses. I think they did a fine job till Footloose got ahold of the ball and hooked it.

He's been interviewed many times since and its really simple.

No visiting kicker has ever made a field goal longer then 42 or 43yrds at Heinz Field. He hit the first one fine but as the replay shows the wind catches it, coupled with the fact that it was cold making the ball less "responsive," and basically kills it, plunk...hits the post...no good.

Then he flat out stated that he tried to kick the crap out of the ball so that he wouldn't have it happen again...everyone knows what happens when you go for the extra umph instead of just doing what is technically sound.

He's an easy scapegoat and if society tells you anything, everyone looks for someone else to blame...so it obviously falls on the kicker.
