"I think this is an opportunity for me to use my talents to help the people of Pennsylvania," Swann said to ESPN.com in an exclusive interview. "I think we can be much better than we have been in recent years. I believe Pennsylvania needs leadership from outside the box."

Officially, Swann hasn't even decided to run for governor yet, but those close to him say the announcement is likely to come at the beginning of 2006.

Steve Largent ran for Senator of Oklahoma, and has served for 12+ years i thinkn now? People seem to love him, and he has done alot of good for Oklahoma.

Just because someone played sports, does not mean they are not "Qualified" to run for an office. Look at the monkey (i use that term lightly) that we have as our president.
Why fight it, i am a Man Whore!

well true swann from what i read a while ago when he first started thinking he has some experience in some capacity.

Largent had the same.

but you also don't need any qualifications to get into government at all.. just look at all the people in the government now.
