The thing I really respect about Ron Artest is his ability to learn from his mistakes.

I love Ron Artest.

He'd drive me crazy if he played for me though.

Would you care if your league was trying to dispel the reputation that you're a "thug" league?

zan i would so agree with you if the NBA didn't over promote kids that are juniors and pay for them to have their high school games on TV.. and during all this playing gangsta rap.. then.. making a big point of Iverson as a Thug buts its socially acceptable.. and other dumbass things the NBA has done that evens out them tryin to remake their image

i mean when you play rap just about every fuckin break... on espn (during the pregame shows) you do lots of interviews with the obviously mental midgets like Iverson.. it just makes those in high school who aren't smart say "hey its cool to be more thuggish so lets do it" and when they come to the NBA they run into stands and pound peoples faces out the back side of their head.. Then Stern acts all outraged.

NBA i don't think would be as popular if the thug image was completely removed.. For us fans of the game it wouldn't change other than being able to no understand 80% of the players in the league since they say words like Ask.. as AXE of Birthday as Burftday and use It is.. as It be

i really dont think that is gonna stop it...oh well i really could care less what they dress like. they should be treated like everyone else and be able to wear whatever they want to wear. this new rule is ridiculous.

This is not finalize yet. Here are some comments from the players:

Josh Childress thinks that the NBA is "taking this thing too far", and "I understand where they're coming from. We all need to be neat and professional. But to ask us to wear suits everywhere, even at a hotel at 2 a.m. I think that's a bit much"

Antonio Davis said "I don't think it's fair for them to tell you exactly how to dress. You can't say no jeans. I've seen businessmen in jeans, a sports coat and nice shirt, and you say that's classy."

Allen Iverson said that he will fight any dress code. He also said "It sends a bad message to kids. If you don't have a suit when you go to school, is your teacher going to think you're a bad kid because you don't have a suit on?"

Marcus Camby said "I don't see it happening unless every NBA player is given a stipend to buy clothes."

Man they bitched about this on FoxSports radio last night for 30 minutes.

Black Guy: "So you're trying to 'clean up' the leagues image? WHAT DOES THAT MEAN!

White Guy: "No it's a proffesion, dress proffesionally"

Black Guy: "If the teams did this, it'd be ok but for the league to do this, it's just wrong."

White Guy: "What's the difference!?"

Black Guy: "Cause it's a TEAM thing man!"

White Guy: "I don't see how it's a big deal"

It's not even a suit. They just want the players to wear a nice shirt and slacks. Can even be a short sleeve shirt. Christ I had to wear a shirt and tie the whole day of a wrestling match in highschool, I think the millionare thugs from the NBA can pony up.

The players should be aware that the league is doing this to help sell the image to rich white dudes who will be pumping money into the league, thus improving their salaries so players like Sprewell can provide food for his starving family.

It's win/win.
