Kobe outscores the Mavs

Postby Zanchief » Wed Dec 21, 2005 12:12 pm

Kobe scored 62 pts in 3 quarters and the mavs scored 61.

He may be a selfish prick, but he's a damn good ballplayer.

18/31 from the field or something, and 21/25 at the freethow line, so his percentage wasn't even that fucked up

0 assists. Slackers couldn't even put back an air ball for all his effort?

They should have let him keep going, for no other reason than me being curious as to what his final total would have been.

he is mad good.... but at what cost..... he is the superstar on a team that sukz bowls.... he got what he wants, I am sure that you could find 4 or 5 other players who could score 60 pts a night if they single-handedly drove every other good or great player away from their team

LA is what 14-10 right now?

Not too shabby for a team with 2 players that don't suck.

Jordan's highest scoring night was against the Cavs back in 1990. He put up 69 points that night, but his point total never exceeded the Cavs'.

The Heat Lakers game was the shizz... Kobe dodged like 5 players to take what would have been and airball and tossed it in. It was a fucking awesome play. The Lakers got really sloppy with their D in the 4th quarter and ended up losing, but they should have won.

Oh and Gary Payton almost started a fight.

Some papers are putting them at #2. And... we fucking destroyed both teams that are supposed to be better than us. The ONLY problem we've had this year was stopping Kobe - in both games. So... we either need to figure out an answer for him or pray we don't get them in the playoffs =p. Otherwise, I fear nobody in the West right now.

      Go Avery.

I'd fear Detroit if I were you. Dirk doesn't play well against fast PFs.

I know 8(. Well, I mean... Sheed was in for game 1, but that was also pretty early on in the season. Flip's system was still pretty new. On the other hand, we were without Marquis, Stackhouse, Van Horn for the game. They are all a huge part of our game plan. Regardless, nobody is looking to the East for our competition. We 'think' that we are right up there with San Antonio, but it's still their conferance to lose.

Well SA is a team built for the playoffs, not the regular season. They do seem so old at times this year. They're much worse then I thought they'd be, not to say that they're bad, I just thought they would be spectacular.

I think that their age is the main thing that's making me retract my, "they could be a 5-year dynasty" talk from earlier this year. I mean, Manu and Parker are young... Duncan is 'right now' peaking... but the entire remainder of their team won't keep up. The 2 things that still inspire 'hope' are Duncan and Pop. The culture that they've created will keep drawing more and more 'greats'.

With the threesome they should be competitive for the next decade easily, but it will all depend on they're drafting (mostly from a late 1st round perspective) and what free agents they can bring in. The thing about SA is they never snag the TOP free agent, they always bring in roleplayers and aging super stars.

They still have the best team around and will likely be contenders for a long time.

Hasn't Manu been injured recently? That'd certainly explain them not being as good as expected...
