I was gonna say the same thing. Bonds shouldn't be a hero. "I did't know I was taking steroids, I didn't kno the pills I took from someone else's locker were bad for me" I hate him more and more every day. He's a joke.

Sushi joint takes dig at Bonds
By COLLEEN SLEVIN Associated Press Writer
Article Launched: 08/02/2007 12:20:58 PM PDT

DENVER—As Barry Bonds pushes for home run No. 755 to tie one of baseball's most hallowed records, a Colorado sushi restaurant is celebrating the man who set the record—Hank Aaron.

Hapa Sushi Grill ran a half-page ad Thursday in the satirical weekly The Onion that read "Congratulations Hank Aaron on 755 home runs." At the bottom of the page, the ad continues: "Organic beef and chicken, no added steroids." Full-page ads are planned for two Boulder, Colo., daily newspapers starting Friday.

Hapa, which has two locations in Boulder and one in Denver, previously has used skinny sumo wrestlers and flaming bags of fast-food hamburgers in its ads to promote its healthy Japanese food.

Hapa founder Mark Van Grack said the ad taps into the Bond controversy to promote his business but it also sends a message like other previous ads for the company.

"Think about what you're doing. Be healthy. You don't need steroids do something great, as Hank Aaron did," he said of the message.

Jonathan Schoenberg of TDA Advertising & Design in Boulder, who created the ad, said it's intended as a tribute to Aaron. But he acknowledged it's also a roundabout dig at Barry Bonds, who has been accused of using steroids. Bonds has long denied doping.

"It's just a reminder that people are questioning the legitimacy of his breaking this incredible record," said the 39-year-old Schoenberg, who grew up admiring Catfish Hunter, Reggie Jackson and Thurman Munson as a New York Yankees fan in the 1970s.

He said he got the idea about a month ago after reading Aaron didn't plan on watching Bonds tie the record.

Schoenberg said he still feels bad for Bonds, because the steroid allegations will cloud his accomplishments.

"You're so famous for something you don't want to be famous for," he said.
Inside each person lives two wolves. One is loyal, kind, respectful, humble and open to the mystery of life. The other is greedy, jealous, hateful, afraid and blind to the wonders of life. They are in battle for your spirit. The one who wins is the one you feed.

Ironically, the pitcher who served up the homerun was suspended a while back for testing positive for illegal substance.

The Babe did it without Tang. Hank plays for 3 year, never hits over 30 HR's a year. Then, Tang is invented. 7 straight years of 30+ HR's a year.

The Babe fucked over by Tang. Who said Hank wasn't juiced?

who the fuck really cares - seriously it's entertainment... I'd rather watch bonds and 75% of players on roids than watch 2 scrubs pitch a 8 - 9 game where both teams sucked.

I no longer actually watch baseball at baseball games, unless its the minors. Now I just get drunk and hit on girls.

I think the more telling statistic is the % of home runs that Hank hit over his career relative to the rest of baseball then Barry Bonds. I heard it on Sports Center but couldn't find the figures to post it.

Yeah, but in that category, Hank pales compared to Babe Ruth. There were several years where Ruth out-homered entire TEAMS by himself. Yeah, lemme look that up...

When Ruth hit 60 homers in 1927, he slugged more round-trippers than any entire team in the American League. His closest competitor was the 1927 Athletics, who had such legends as Mickey Cochrane, Jimmie Foxx, Al Simmons, Ty Cobb and Eddie Collins. That entire team hit 56 homers, four shy of the Babe.

That's from http://baseball.suite101.com/article.cf ... _babe_ruth

Not to mention, Ruth was such a mutant, he was also the league's best PITCHER for several years, before he converted to outfielder. 89-46 record with a 2.18 ERA, with a 3-0 record pitching World Series games, with a 0.87 ERA in those games, and a then-record 29 1/3 consecutive inning scoreless streak.

So yeah, Babe Ruth was on a whole different plane than any other baseball player.
