Bosh fits their team better. Better future too, IMO. Wade is just another 'great' guard... Bosh could be the next Duncan / Garnett.

Sheed has no reliable backup. Hell, he was brought in specifically because they had a gaping hole at the 4. That wouldn't have been the case if Darko hadn't sucked from day one... or if they had Bosh in there and he had a similar rookie season. The sheed trade might not have happened and then Detroit might not have won the championship... but, another forward makes a hell of a lot more sense than another guard. They are *quite* fine on the backcourt.

Twenty Bucks says Darko gets traded and ends up a much better player on a worse team.

The Kings also have one of the top 5 point-guards in the league... easily the most underappreciated player in the NBA. Dallas and Cleveland are the only two teams I can think of off the top of my head that have a pair of good 1-guards.

And Lyion... Darko *could* become a great player... that's true. But... on the comparison of sophomores, he's *clearly* the weakest link. Also, you can't use the 'I was drafted by a great team" excuse for long... Remember, Josh Howard was picked LAST in the first round, and he's now the starting 3 on the Mavs... HUGELY critical to the success of the team. People call him Dirk's Pippen. To make this fact stand out even more, remember that Josh was drafted (a forward) when we had Dirk, Jamison, Walker and Najera all playing small/power forward roles. Darko could have fought for his minutes like Howard had to...

Yup, and a very, very weak one by comparison. Drafts are a crapshot, for sure. It does piss me off to see someone with that amount of talent and upside wasting away due to being a fuckstick.

He's 19, playing for Larry Brown, on a good team not far removed from a Championship, though, so maybe its just not a fit for him.

I'm curious which team takes a chance and trades for him.

none that are in the top 5

i could see dallas IF they know soething everyone else doesn't.. but i doubt that. That would be the ONLY good team that would want him.

Well vonk.. if bobby was healthy they have 2 in the top 10 maybe 15. Remember Bobby was a all-star pick until he had his hand pulverized by Shaq.

I still put Jason Kidd, Nash and Bibby as the top 3 PGs in the game.

You could say iverson.. but he doesn't make his team better. Kidd/bibby/Nash do. Bibby is ahead of Jason right now just cause of Jason's injury.. next year kidd will be back #1.

The only reason i would put bibby and kidd over nash is nash plays NO defense. Bibby can defend and has been recently. If bibby doesn't have to carry the entire offensive load he is an ok defender.. which is so much more than Nash will ever be (not cause nash can't play D.. its cause he plays all out on offense)

And for clutch i would always have bibby over the other 2. For defense Kidd, for Offense Nash..

overall if all are completely healthy Its Kidd bibby, Nash

i still don't see why everyone thinks Iverson is SOOOO great. yea he is good.. but he had guys like kenny thomas on the team last couple years.. and he ball hogs so much it destroys chemistry or any semblance of an offense.

And look at kenny in Sac.. he is playing like an all-star.. cause he has a pg to get him the ball.

btw... Mavs beat kings 4-2 in the first round... even if Jackson and Miller are back. If they were both healthy i would say 4-1 Kings.

btw... Vonk... i heard this and wanted to kno what you thought...

if Cuttino options out... and the kings pick up Antonio Daniels... hows that sound?

i like it.. Daniels plays more D than cuttino and can run the point which makes bibby your SG (aka scorer), and score when needed.. seeing as the kings will have Bibby, Peja, Miller, bobby as your scores.. Thomas and Skinner as the bangers rebounders and shot blockers.

oh and there are rumors Divac is gonna come back to the kings to be a assistant which means Peja will be more inclined to stay .. and hopefully play like last year. And MAYBE do something in the playoffs (fat chance).

hubie Brown was saying if the kings had miller and bobby healthy they would have a chance to beat the spurs.

Well... I remember last year when you basically said that Nash was the most overrated PG in the league... and this year he's an MVP candidate =p.

MOST league GMs prefer the pass-first point-guard over the shoot-first type. This is the reason so many people consider Kidd and Nash the top 2 guards in the game... and you are right, Kidd's defense puts him in a league of his own, far surpassing what Nash does. But then, and I'll quote the above article...

ESPN.com wrote:You're telling me that Bibby or Kidd wouldn't have been just as successful with Stoudemire, Marion, Johnson and Q on their team? Does anyone else find it depressing that the point guard position has fallen so dramatically over the years, it's practically cause for celebration when someone plays it correctly?

exactifuckingticafickally

I'm with a lot of Dallas fans in this... we LOVE Nash... LOVE what he's done in Phoenix, but he's simply doing his job. Any of the top 5 guards could have remade that team. Look what Baron Davis has done to Golden State. GOLDEN STATE of all teams. 1 man has made a world of difference in Oakland. Steve Francis, Stephon Marbury, Tony Parker, Kirk Hinrich... all of them would have fucking dynamite stats playing with those guys. I still love Nash, but... fuck... Shaq had better win this MVP race.

Anyway... Bibby is in the same boat as AI. I'm not going to get into the wonders of Iverson because I have a feeling you'll ignore it. People flip out over this guy simply because he fucking deserves it. He does it ALL man. I've seen him shoot 3s over Kevin fucking Garnett. 7'2" vs 5'11". That's like a 10 year old shooting over your average adult. That's fucked up.

I won't 'rank' point-guards simply because everyone brings different things to the teams. We love what Terry is doing just fine. Would Baron Davis have made similar contributions to Dallas if we somehow acquired him? A little bit, yes... but not on the whole. Kidd is really the only player that truly makes ANY team better. He honestly could make a huge improvement on all 30 teams. Yes, even Sacramento. Jason Kidd *should* be mentioned in the same breath as Magic Johnson when his career is finished as the greatest point-guards ever.

Last year you put Bibby over Nash, AI and Kidd. This year it's the same... but I PROMISE you that there isn't a single GM in the league that would pick Bibby over either Kidd or Iverson, and many would pick Nash as well. Iverson and Kidd are OBVIOUS hall-of-fame material. Bibby hasn't made that yet. You are comparing a pair of top TEN (of any position) players to a ''probably" top 25 guy. Apples and fucking oranges man.

Anyway...
a healthy Kings team would still stand little chance at anyone in the top 4 besides *maybe* the current Sonics. I can't even begin to tell you how pipe-dream fucked-up that idea is man. Dallas hasn't had this much momentum since the 87-88 season when L.A. *just* kept us out of the finals. I can't even see the banged-up Sacramento winning 1 game on us, a healthy one *might* push a 6 game series, but no fucking way ya'll would advance. I think that trading Webb was good for you in the long run but the Kings are a fucking shadow of their former selves. You need to put down the hometeam crack-pipe and face reality.

so your calling Hube brown stupid? guess your smarter than him... nm your not :)

Well seeing as we have 2 all-star calibur players out and 1 a starter.. just this week will be the 3rd day of practice since the Webber trade.. and bibby and cuttino are hurt... i think your like the rest of the league that says who cares about the kings.. but they did that last year.. and oh yea.. what was the result... but again there was a difference the kings had all but bobby healthy.

I rank point guards on what they do for their team. You can be the leading scorer and do all this stuff individually but if you can't make those around you better then your not that great.

if jordan scored 50 points a game.. but no one else scored he would have lost. He MADE Pippen from a good player to a Hall of Famer.

Bibby made Webber better.. and look he has made Skinner and Thomas.. and Miller just in the like 15 games.. better than they were before. Miller was made an All-star in the West.. which is alot harder to do than be a All-star in the east.

I was saying Nash was overrated cause he NEVER played Defense.. which HURT his team way too much in the playoffs.

Now to show you hipocracy.. Nash is so great.. but the Mavs in the best shape they have been in since 87 (without Nash)? Wonder why.. TERRY PLAYS SOME DEFENSE.

Thats why the kings were sucking 20 games back.. bibby wasn't playing D cause he had to carry the load on offense and peja was sucking. Now peja is back and kings are looking better cause bibby can play Defense.

Kings biggest prob was rebounding.. now they have fixed that.. once the new players get some practices in with the offense they are gonna be much better.

ok... Kidd can't shoot worth a damn.. so when he does shoot it hurts the team.. nash can't play defense which hurts his team.. bibby is more a shoot Pg and makes some stupid turnovers which hurts his team

I still would take Nash or Bibby over kid for their scoring threat.. IF i had a shockblocker.. aka Amare and Skinner.

Nash never had a shot blocker.. so his defense killed the Mavs in the Playoffs.. how many games did bibby make him look silly? Tony parker? thats why i said he was overrated

he is great offensively .. thats it

Bibby was awful when he played for the Grizz. We traded him for good reason. He came into his own in Sac. He probably never would have developed in Memphis. Unfortanately we got stuck with Jason Williams who constantly complains about his play time and is basically telling Jerry West to fire the Zaar or trade him. With his bloated contract I'll be surprised if we can get rid of him. Anyone need a whiney, bitchass point guard?

How could he get worse?

Personally I think he's a bust. He might even ne the BIGGEST bust of all time. Bigger then Joe Smith, maybe even bigger than Danny Ferry.

He stinks. He has no skill. He can't even get minutes on the Serbian national team.

The Darko hatred has me a bit befuddled. Quite frankly, none of us have any idea how good he is or isn't. Evaluating a young player on a Larry Brown-coached team on the basis of garbage time minutes is just silly. I do find it interesting that the Pistons have been adamant about rejecting trade offers for someone who apparently sucks so badly he can't play Euroball.

Have you seen him play, Xao? He's awful. I've heard Larry Brown speak candidly about him and he doesn't have much hope for him either.

They aren't going to trade him because they don't want to admit they're wrong yet.

They are wrong.

Forgive me for asking, but outside of being a 7 footer why was he drafted so high? Someone must have seen something in him.

If he is that bad, why is he still on Detroits roster?

He may turn into the Ryan Leaf of the NBA, but for now its too early to tell and I think he could be a decent player on a different team.

No, I haven't seen him play. Nobody has seen him play. He has a whopping three hours of floor time this year. There's absolutely no way to evaluate a player based on three hours of garbage time. Particularly a player who's nineteen year sold. Do you recall what Jermaine O'Neal's numbers were at 19?

I've heard Larry Brown speak candidly about him and he doesn't have much hope for him either.

Larry Brown isn't what you might call a top notch developer of young talent. Did you watch the Olympic debacle? Does the name Larry Hughes ring a bell? Brown's a helluva coach, but an absolutely terrible mentor for young players.

They aren't going to trade him because they don't want to admit they're wrong yet.

They are wrong.

Or, possibly, because Joe Dumars understands the folly of writing off a young player without a body of work to judge him on.

X.. there is if he can't get shit right in practice. Thats why the kings got rid of Wallace.. they were gonna give him one more year but the decided after 3 years if he can't pick up the kings offense he will never do it.

They picked him on a Diamond in the Rough mentality.. if i remember the NBA draft coverage on TV. 7 footer with post up skills and a soft touch.

Jermaine was also behind Wallace, Dale Davis, Sabonis and another guy i can't remember his name. And he was on the Jailblazer team.

But i do agree Larry is worthless with young talent. Did he even play James and Wade in any game? Carmelo also?

in a year i think his contract is up.. i doubt anyone signs him except maybe a team that loses its centers

Lebron is barely 20
Melo is 20
Bosh turned 21 last week

What were there numbers when they were 19?

You can tell alot from a player during garbage time, and Larry Brown is the one who sees him in practice everyday.

I'll trust his assessment...BUST!
