why do the Cubs torment me like this

Ok, two years ago we were starting to look real good, and now this?

I mean, I bought into the whole "trade Sammy Sosa" thing, but this was the best we could get for him?

And the Joe Borowski story was great for that one year, but who in their right mind thought he was going to be a big-time closer for us, even if he wasn't getting injured all the time.

And Jeromy Burnitz? That was the best we could do on the free agent market?

How about some relief pitchers? I mean, true, Kyle Farnsworth wasn't working out, but again, that was the best trade we could do?

Greg Maddux deserves better. That's about all I have to say.

Borowski is coming off the DL, well has come off the DL and will assume the closing role as soon as he is "ready".

Sosa trade was good in the long run, as you can see how "good" he is doing this year. However im not sure if Hairston was the right guy to trade him for. Im sure you could have gotten some bullpen help for him instead.

Burnitz will heat up with the weather. He will hit around .300 with 35 bombs and 100 RBI. More than Sosa would have, and better defense (thats not saying much).

All in all your team will be better off in the long run. Cubs will be sticking around for a playoff spot if and when they find a closer or if Borowski works out. Borowski has the "stuff" to make a good closer, and has already saved 33 games in a season (2003).

The cubs suck... Face it, they have no hope if they depend on that offence to win them a world series.

Greg Maddux is still a good pitcher. Mark Prior has the stuff to be a very good to great pitcher. Zambrano is pretty good. Kerry Wood is hyped to hell, but is not likely to become great as he will break off his arm the way he throws.

That offence tho. If Garciaparra was healthy they would be mediocre. As it is, they suck.

Cubs wanted to get rid of old Sosa and his huge contract. Hairston is a great second basemen if he can stay healthy.

Fuck the Yankees.

PS Who is in first place in the AL East? :boots:

The Cubs? I thought they got busted to playing FFA high school teams now?

Come now... you know you're really an Indians fan.

On ESPN i heard something about a player on the cubs being injured for a few days because he hurt his finger on a reclinable chair. Sox won a championship first time in 86 years, Cubs will never win a world series ever again!
