Rogue

Postby Ouchyfish » Fri Mar 03, 2006 7:32 pm

Thinking about making one but had a few questions.

I have only played one class for the last few months in the little time that I have had to play and that is hunter (45). What i was wondering is how bad a disadvantage does a rogue have in battles when soloing? See, with the leather until 40 on hunter, I wasn't at too bad of a disadvantage because the pet has my back with much better armor. What I guess I'm trying to say is, for playing solo, will the rogues offense make up for the defense playing solo?

I realize a lot has to do with how -well- you can play but was wondering what your opinions were that is if anyone out there has levelled both.

I'm leveling a orc rouge now, and I pretty much only solo. Only problems I've really had were like lvls 10-13 or so, and that could have been that I just had really shitty stuff. I'm 42 now and with combat I can pretty much solo caster mobs with them only doing about 5% damage to me, and not getting off any spells, meele mobs I can kill about 3 in a row befor I have to rest / eat. The only real problem I run into is if I get 3 or 4 mobs on me at once, I've got to run. I am also fighting all yellows / oranges. 2 at once I can handle fine (say if sap wears off real fast) But I'll usally have to eat afterwards. I do a shitload of damage. I'm combat speced w/ daggers and my crit % is like 22 right now, with mainly green gear and a two blues.

I soloed better with my warrior from what I remeber, the armor / hp just helped so much, but I do kill alot faster.

i grinded on my rogue from about 45 to 60 solo. down time is minimal if you just kill humanoids.. they drop cloth, cloth that you use to make bandages to heal up after a fight. gg

if your going to grind it.. fight stuff a few levels below you to minimize damage taken and optimize damage given. combat spec is easiest i hear, but i was daggers and had no problem really. until i got my shanker at 58, then gouging became an issue because the dot from the weapon proc allways seemed to land right when i'd hit gouge so have to just time the energy pulses right.

back to my drink, and waiting in the 300+ person queue
