Does WOW work with SP2?

Postby Lyion » Thu Sep 30, 2004 7:17 am

For some reason I can't install Direct X 9.0c. The MS site directs me to install SP2... So I'm doing that.. Does WOW work decently with SP2?

Excellent. Installing it now.

On a side note, I just broke down and bought a GT 6800... Now I just need to find a good Athlon 939 Pin Motherboard and cheap 3500 to continue my upgrade.

That's probably my next purchase... been reading great review after great review... it's a great overclocker, great component layout... and has every feature you would ever want ^_^. No pcix though... although with your new card, you won't care about that.

Who would you recommend for component purchases? I bought the video card from Newegg, but I'm not sure if they're the best value/stability seller.

I'm upgrading from a Radeon 9700 Pro. I'm curious how much of a performance boost I'll get.

Newegg owns. I trust them more than any brickhouse retailer.

SUPPOSEDLY... the jump from 9700 to 6800 is like the Voodoo3 to Geforce4 jump... or the G4-TI4200 to 9800XT jump. It truly is a new leap in technology.

Did Blizzard work with NVIDIA on this game? It looked good on my 9700, it looks much better on my GT 6800.

That and I have the NVIDIA icon pop up in my video options now, and they look different.

If you read the patch notes, they did some stupid shit with the graphics now. It looks like there is NO anti-aliasing at all anymore.

PS: how much for the card?

Its your drivers that cause the NVidia logo to popup in one of the corners, you can turn that on and off with most drivers.

All this talk about new video cards makes me want to buy a new laptop.
